Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The pillows could be more comfortable. But all in all. Was an exceptional stay, and will be back!
The convenience of having the text for help was amazing. Very fast responses, anything you need, the staff was quick to assist. Everyone at the hotel was very pleasant, and helpful.

The coffee in my room wasn’t great! I think it was the creamer.
Clean, great quality everything. Incredible staff/service, beautiful view, the house car feature is so helpful, and the art/photography adds so much richness to the experience.

There isn’t anything that we weren’t very satisfied with.
There is not a free breakfast. The restaurant in the hotel was relatively expensive but the breakfast was excellent. There’s also a cafe with a limited selection. We got takeout there for our daughter and it was very good.

Food at the restaurants on-site and late night menu.
Breakfast at roses social was not the best - ordered benny and did not like the orange sauce on the eggs and braised kale was a strange mushy texture, got upset stomach. Cafe across had very nice sandwiches - tried turkey avocado sandwich and it was amazing! Fruit cup - all fruits very sweet and fresh. Valerie - tried cocktails, hot step had a strong mint flavor to it and not carbonated; blueberry/cucumber cocktail was better but both cocktails were a bit watered down, did not try food at valerie - read online reviews and many said food was not good, so did not try. View was amazing. Guerlain spa - was superb! Ordered late night menu to the room from hotel -,burned shrimp w Caesar salad and truffle fries gave me upset stomach - maybe too much truffle oil. Wings were very dry. Played pool in arcade room - great time.

Nothing. Coming from Europe we are used to different prices, but that's something to get used to in Canada.
The staff was very kind and helpful, the rooms are great and very clean. The location is wonderful, with a full view on the lake. We enjoyed the warm outdoor pool in the winter!! We loved our stay.

The signature cocktails were a little inconsistent. It was also a little difficult the navigate all the amenities. We did not realize some things required a reservation.
Room service was amazing and very accommodating. CafeX was excellent. The Valerie experience was worth the wait. The pool and arcade out things over the top. We were there for a birthday and the staff made it very special. Thank you.

The was a bit uncomfortable and the staff didn't clear out all the garbage from my room. But other than that I enjoyed my stay and I will definitely be back!

They closed one of the restaurants for a conference function meaning only a more upscale Japanese restaurant was available. All we wanted was casual dining option so had to Uber eats dinner.

There was a lot of construction outside not much to look at if you didn’t have a skyline view. But beautiful none the less. There was a lot of bird poop on the windows, I understand the bedrooms as the window cleaners can’t come daily but even in the restaurant, that should be addressed since its easily accessible on the balcony.
