Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Lovely hostel, very clean and comfortable. Molly and Mauro go above and beyond and can’t do enough for you. The breakfast has amazing homemade cakes. Mauro offers airport pickup and drop off services as well as amazing treks around the area and is extremely knowledgeable. Fantastic stay and would recommend. Very close to the town centre and quiet location and a great local pub for food and drink at the bottom of the steps!!

There is only one shared bathroom for a lot of guests. The other bathroom is 2 floors down and very uncomfortable

Creaky house, a little noisy
Location was good. Short walk to center via stairs. House is old and charming. Lots of budget travelers. For solo traveler it was nice way to meet people

Not really complaints, but some of the upstairs floorboards were quite creaky which may disturb light sleepers. The private shower / bath was quite compact - may cause problems with larger people.
Really comfy beds, spacious rooms, clean throughout, helpful staff, relaxed atmosphere, good location. Plenty of space in the comfortable communal areas. Well stocked kitchen.

1. Overpriced hostel. 2. Weak WiFi 3. The shared bathroom was not clean and very often occupied. 4. They request a credit card (not a debit card) which was not clearly mentioned in the fine print. Only in Chile it has happened. I had to go to my bank and apply for a credit card. 5. In the end, the payment was in cash. A big discussion about USD notes "in good condition". Even getting the notes from my bank, they didn't accept some notes. So it means "in perfect condition" when paying in cash with USD notes.
Centrally located. Some staff very helpful, other staff not helpful.

The wooden floor can be a little bit noisy if other guests move around at night.
The location is really close to the lake so you can chill by the lake anytime you want. The bed is comfortable and the hot water in the bathroom is easy to manage. The staff are friendly and speaks variety of languages. I like the common area, which is cozy and lovely.

The owners were extremely nice, everything in excellent condition. We were the only guests during our stay, so we chatted with them frequently. The breakfast also is excellent, you can choose every day what you like and the coffee us excellent as well. I would recommend the porridge:). During winter, the place also has central heating meaning you will stay warm.

The only thing I felt was missing would be some sort of coffee maker for the guests to use in the kitchen.
Lovely, clean hostel within walking distance from downtown. I was truly pleasantly surprised by how clean and organized the hostel was, including the kitchen. I’ve stayed in plenty of hostels over the years, and this was definitely one of the cleanest and most well organized.
