Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PortugalThere was construction going on at our floor and the showers were unavailable so we had to go to another floor to take a shower. It was temporary but it was quite the hassle to find a booth available.
The location is pretty close to the main square and at a walkable distance of basically the main attractions of the city. They host some activities for you to know other guests (games, 'pub crawls', etc). The check-in was pretty pleasant as well, we were given recommendations over the hostel's activities, places to eat, etc.

ChinaI woke up at four o'clock in the middle of the night because of the loud noise of making love next door. I had to listen to them making love, and the sound insulation was very poor here.

CanadaThe noise and lack of curtain on the top bunk. Oh and also the vomit stains in the bathroom.
The social aspect takes time to get used to, but it is very nice. The rooms are warm. The staff is friendly. Kitchenette in each room.

United KingdomI’m not too sure about having an age limit. I was just below it, but it feels slightly discriminating. Also, I was allowed to smoke outside by the reception area the first night. Yet get told off the following evenings, even though staff members were allowed too. Either decide smoking for everyone or no one at all. Having a tab is good, but having to pay in cash at the end of your stay and not by card is a bit dated.
Very sociable hostel with everyone gathered in the evenings. Sometimes they put a meal on (about 6 euros). It had decent facilities and was clean throughout. The hostel was located in a prime location in Prague, so lots of places were walking distance, including public transport.

AustraliaAccommodation is basic but that's how it is in European historical buildings, there's no elevator, no air con and limited bathrooms. That said, the kitchen is perfectly functional and the dining room is just big enough for a few card games at once.
I loved this hostel! The social atmosphere was great, the games and daily events were fun. It's not quite a party hostel but you'll make plenty of friends and have plenty of opportunities. Also the Aussie chef Stefan makes a fabulous Spaghetti Bolognese and Czech goulash.

BelgiumI really liked this hostel! Clean, spacious rooms with privacy curtains on the bottom beds. Nice living area where they host home cooked diners and invite you to play games every night from 20.30-22.30u, so really great to meet other people. The location in the old town was excellent and close to the top attractions, stores and restaurants.

MalaysiaAhoy! Hostel is the place for those who like to socialize and meet new friends. It is a very enjoyable place for backpackers because you can meet new friends. The room was great, with a plug point near your bed. There's a common room that I think is very calm and chill. The kitchen was great with basic facilities, and there's also a locker available with a deposit.

ArmeniaI didn't like that there was no elevator, but thanks to the nice staff and nice neighbours I managed to get to the reception with my luggage which was and after take it downstairs. I also didn't like the internet connection in my room, it was great in the common room but was very weak in my room.
I liked the location, the overall atmosphere, the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms and bathrooms.

GermanyIt's great that there are other kitchens also on the other floors, just a bit annoying that the light turns off by itself after one minute, if one actually decides to eat something there and then sits in the dark bcs there's no daylight. Would be better to have one lamp that stays on. The reception staff and other guests seemed quite superficial, smalltalk was very shallow and in a stiff way professional. I think that's because of a lot of transit traffic, as the hostel is located in the very center. But it creates a really weird non-authentic feeling. Luckily there was a soup-making guy who broke with this 'code', otherwise that feeling of awkwardness would have persisted for my entire stay.
The place is cosy to hang out at, decoration is lovely, the reception is open and responsive for 24 hours, in case one needs to enter the hostel prior to check-in. It's nice that it has several floors, so it's possible to retreat to a more quiet place even if ppl are partying in the lounge. The kitchen is well-equipped and cleanliness of the whole place is really outstanding.

PortugalPrague is very noisy so traffic noises coming from the windows at night becomes annoying but almost impossible to control. But the hostel offers ear plugs and all houses are very noisy so in general this was very good.
The hostel itself is really nice, very clean, the staff is great and the way they split the apartments is top: one apartment with kitchen and then you have multiple rooms. The hostel offers free tours around the city and social nights at the top floor!

United StatesBed has thin comforter and poor quality pillow. Kitchen area is very dark due to low light and no window. Price is high for the area.
The room is nice with high ceiling. There are 3 chairs with a small table. Very quiet. Kitchen is very well equipped with all basic supplies; salt, oil, spices etc. Location is very central, very close to metro yellow line which is the one to go the airport. All staffs are great and helpful.
