We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PolandWe booked a private room for a pair with queen bed but what we got was a room with 6 single beds from which 2 of them were joined together. They were not comfortable and not what we expected or payed for.
Great location, private bathrooms, free option to store luggage

PolandThe man at checkout was very rude and very very unprofessional - especially when we asked to store our luggage. Also the place didn’t feel very clean. Also felt weird that we had to pay in cash for the stay.
Great location for money.

Ukrainethey don't provide towels! if you need one to take a shower, they will charge you extra. they don't make beds, you have to do that yourself. the currency rate is a bit different from the official. anything you touch is in pretty bad condition.
friendly environment, cheerful holiday atmosphere; good chance to have a pleasant conversation with fellow visitors while looking for something essential like a hairdrier or waiting for your turn to use the bathroom

United KingdomAs it is a old building there is no lift. But it was expected. They have a luggage storage room. But it was mentioned that they do not have any responsibility of the baggage left at storage room.
The location was very good. Any places you want to visit including the shopping also, are at walkable distance. Even the central bus station was also within reach. The people working there were very helpful. Overall in Prague I found people go extra miles to help a tourist.

HungaryThere were two common bathrooms close to our room, one was proper and clean, but the other one was always filthy and in a bad state. Of course this is not the hostel's fault, it depends entirely on the guests who use it. On our first night, there were quite a lot of people making noise late at night in the common room next to our room, that was a bit annoying but again, not the hostel's fault. It's what youth hostels are like. Our room was not the cleanest, the shelves and the corners were covered in dust, but that's not a huge issue, just mentioning it so maybe the staff can make arrangements to be a bit more thorough in this aspect.
The hostel is in a beautiful old building, right in the center of the old town of Prague. It's a very busy street, especially at night, but the windows in our room canceled the noise out perfectly, so we slept well (if we were staying here in the summer with the windows open though, I think that would have been a different experience...). The double room was spacious, with shelves and hangers, nice carpets and a small heater that provided enough warmth. The bed was quite comfortable, the sheets were clean. The kitchen seemed well equipped, though we only used it to make some tea in the mornings&evenings. Overall, it was a good place to spend a few nights at. The staff at the reception were very nice to us and they explained everything in detail (which key is for which gate/door, where the common bathrooms were, etc).

KazakhstanVery unpleasant and unfriendly staff at the front desk who check guests in. Except for the young guys who go around seeing guests off with their keys. Either the guy with dreadlocks at the front desk is constantly sleep deprived or high, like the girl in the second building where we were checked in, or they really talk to guests in an arrogant manner.

SwedenThe lock for the toilet door did not work. There are three showers, but one of them is in glass without a possibility to lock the door, so no one would shower there. The other two are in the same bathroom which means probably only one person will shower at a time.
The building and room give a nice historical feel. The kitchen in the room was very clean. Room feels spacious even though 15 people stay in it. Location is super central, but a bit noisy at night.
