Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SwedenSo, staying at U Krale Karla was actually not our first time but rather our second time, because we stayed here for a week back in 2014. Our memories of this hotel were fond, and staying here again did not give us any reason to change our opinions about it. The hotel is beautiful. The historical and yet warm atmosphere in the room is that of the kind and helpful staff. Staying here is almost like roleplaying. You imagine yourself in another time, a time where elegance and style were much more valued than it is today when it is considered acceptable to visit a fine dining restaurant with fake Adidas pants and brown sneakers that were once white. At Krale Karla you feel stylish and extravagant, and every time you go to bed you do so as a King or Queen because of the magnificent bed. The temperature in the room is comfortable and stable. We remember this because when we visited last time it was during a heatwave and the room back then was also surprisingly stable in temperature. As a funny surprise and somewhat of a coincidence we got to stay in the same room as in 2014. Well the hotel has 19 rooms so it was not an impossible coincidence, but still something we found a bit surprising, and also very nice. Our room was on the second floor, but a nice and working elevator helped us up and down all the time. The hotel is staffed in the reception every hour of the day/evening/night, so finding someone to help you is never any problem if you need it. The room had a small fridge that was without a pesky minibar so you could easily fill it up with your own stuff. The cleaning of the room was impeccable and every time we returned to our room it was in a newly cleaned condition. Like always the water from the taps is perfectly safe to drink (this is not limited to the hotel) and the shower pressure is impressively strong. Thank you all in the staff for making sure that we felt like nobility.

Czech RepublicMy gf and I rented the Deluxe Double/Twin Room for one night for my birthday. The gentleman working the front desk was very friendly and check-in went smoothly. But....when we entered the room it looked nothing like the pictures depicted on Booking's website. The room appeared half the size of the ones in the picture, there was no bathtub as depicted on Booking's pics, and there were 2 separate, single beds that were impossible to push together because of the bulky bed frames. So I went back to the front desk and politely spoke with the gentleman there, and, to make a long story short, we received the room that was exactly as depicted in the Deluxe Double/Twin Room on Booking's webisite. Huge, large queen bed, nice big bathtub, clean, quiet....superb. So whoever was working on 5 November at about 8pm, thank you very much for accommodating our wishes in a very friendly manner and making our stay a very enjoyable one :) The hotel has a great location right next to the Prague Castle on the border of Mala Strana (my favorite part of Prague) and Hradčany and roughly 15 minutes on foot to Charles Bridge. All in all, a great birthday experience!

PolandIt is difficult to give something here that we did not like, so I will give one inconvenience. We were charged a EUR 100 deposit, and in the news from the hotel I did not find any information that it would be charged. It would be worth informing customers about such a deposit in the future so that they can plan their budget.
The interior of the hotel is gorgeous and stylized in a royal style. The staff was very helpful and nice. If we come back to Prague we will definitely take this hotel again.

United KingdomThe bed was a little squeaky and the room wasn’t what was in the pictures on booking.com. I had to figure out breakfast. The person working didn’t explain anything. Asked for my room number and that was that. I had to figure out where to get water and juice.
Beautiful location next to the Castle, away from the busy Old Town.

United KingdomStaff didn’t know much about history of building Breakfast was poor. Old bread, cake that was meant to have pastry crust, was wet. Not much tea coffee in room. Had to ask for more all the time. Bath been replaced at sometime, but was not in keeping with rest of suite and tiles different colours. Bed was rock hard, it was like sleeping on planks of wood.
The room was nice, the historic building was lovely. We could leave our bags on the last day as checked out at 11 and flights not until 6.30pm

United KingdomThe breakfast. Staff was not there most of the time, not attentive. There was a very small choice of food, almost nothing left and we arrived 1 hr before breakfast was finished. The food trays were not refilled when finished and the apple was as if you dropped it in the water, coffee quality was also very weak.
Location is perfect, the room was very beautiful and the beds very comfortable. The building itself is very pretty and the room size was great.

GermanyI booked by booking and had an inquiry. The hotel did not respond, could not reach it by phone, there is a central booking office from this hotel chain, which refused any service claiming, booking.com was responsible. booking.com said the hotel alone was responsible. So I was left inbetween without any help. The receptionist avoided any service, no concierge nobody to turn to, like in a motel. In one point the hotel was fast: I got numerous e-mails asking to pay more for unwanted services (upgrades for this and that) Although directly under the residence of the head of state, the hotel is just a copy of disneyland, even the name of it is not in Czech, but this not uncommon in Prague these days.
Interior design, obviously from the hotel which was there before

Abkhazia, GeorgiaThe next morning, someone tries to unlock the room I'm staying in at 8-9am, complete invasion of privacy. I go downstairs at 9am, way before checkout time, to return the keys for the extra room and see if they have alternative rooms or foldable beds for us. The lady at the front desk became hostile and told me I had to pay for the extra room and I couldn't be staying there because I didn't pay for it. This was completely unbelievable attitude, instead of helping their customer resolve the situation for their mistake, they are putting the blame on me and asking me to pay extra. I didn't break into the extra room, their staff handed me the keys because it was 1am the night before and the situation could not be resolved. I told them I paid for 2 twin beds and they refuse to give it to me so they should actually be giving me my money back. I showed the lady again how I could still book for 2 twin beds on the booking website and it's not my problem. At this point, she dropped her attitude and admitted it's their system's fault but she couldn't do anything about it and I had to leave for my city tour that I booked. Unfortunately the next 2 nights, nothing was done so I had to put a bunch of blankets/chair cushions on the floor to make a sleeping bag. Ridiculous. Great hotel but the service & attitude was so poor I would not stay there again.
I booked for 3 night stay at the King Charles. I requested for 2 twin beds in a room for a friend & I. When I checked in, I asked to make sure this was the case. The reception said yes, and we received the keys and went upstairs, I was given 1 double bed. I went back downstairs to inform them, and they said all the 2 twin bed rooms are sold out and they can get a foldable bed in the room and told me to wait for 30mins. One hour goes by and no one comes so I go back downstairs, at this point it is 1am in the morning. The receptionist told me they didn't have an extra bed, all of it was being used. I become irate as it was 1am in the morning and they didn't bother to come upstairs to tell me no bed was coming and just made me wait for an hour. I showed the staff on the booking site, that I can still book 2 twin beds for the same night, it still showed as available and if I paid for another room right now, they would have to give me the twin beds as stated on the booking site. After back and forth, the night receptionist gave me a different room to stay in for the night, and told me to speak to the morning reception and they can help me make alternative arrangements. I made sure to not use the much of the space in the room, did not use the bathroom, as to not create extra work for the cleaning staff, I just needed a place to sleep for the night. I messaged the customer service number they had listed via Whatsapp and the response was to just talk to the reception.

United KingdomBreakfast was poor, and most certainly, they are recycling food from previous days, such as breasld which was really dry every morning and cheese that most of the time, it was stuck onto the plate. Rooms were cleaned only on the surface. Above there were spider webs, there was even a massive one on the hall near the bathroom,( luckily my wife did not see it) and beside the sofa bed wasn't clean at all. Around 6pm we asked at the reception for our breakfast that we paid for, to be taken away as we were having an early check out, and the receptionist did not had a clue of this could be arranged and promised will get back to us, but she never did. We eventually found out on our way out in the morning that they could not sort out the breakfast because we asked them too late.

CanadaThere was no air conditioning nor could they find a fan. The clerk was next door when we arrived having a beer at the pub!!! He soon changed his clothes out of a suit to a tee-shirt with a logo on it. It was a hot day. On our departure at 5am....a night clerk had locked the premises door and then couldn't find the key!!! So we were locked in ! With the clerk running around trying to find the keys with no luck...and the cab driver yelling that we would miss our train....there was no spare front door key to be found! No kidding!!! Seriously, no spare key! His solution , picture this, was to get a step stool so we could CLIMB OUT THE WINDOW to the front street!!!! .. I am almost 80 years old . My 60 year old daughter and I were clawing our way out the window hauling luggage before us!! The only thing better would have been to have a picture of the chaotic escape to avoid paying our bill!! If only I had a picture to post !!!
We loved the location! There was lots of space in the room and places to sit.

DenmarkWe booked the hotel from the app Booking.com, we got an email with confirmation and the address to the hotel. When we arrived at the address we got in the confirmation email the hotel which had been there had been closed for more than a year. We wrote and phoned to Booking.com without any luck or help. We were there around 23.00 and had to find another place to stay for the night. Never mind our Visa Cards were deducted for the room in a hotel which had been closed for more than a year. Extremely bad experience.

Germany- Breakfast is humble and not on the 4 stars level, I can't recommend it to anyone especially having the great breakfast options around. - Room service: the beds have never been made. Towels were changed randomly (two of them changed, two of them not). Shampoo was not replaced, so I had to ask the receptionist for an additional one. - Wi-Fi is slow - (Important!) Hot water flow is unstable, I had to jump out as the water was super hot suddenly, the guests can be burned easily - the mess with the room I was given the wrong one (my bad - I could mentioned it at the beginning of the stay but I didn't)
- The location is great, quiet neighbourhood, no many tourist around makes this hotel very attractive - The whole building and interior is amazing - The receptionists are professional, friendly and helpful. They gave me a lot of advices and helped with many small issues.
