The room was beautiful, with the view on the mountains. Staff absolutely wonderful, so kind and helpful. Breakfast was really good, beautifully served and the staff making sure everything we're okay. Conditions also very good, everything exceptionally clean.

Comfortable well designed hotel with modern furnishings and very friendly and professional staff. Relaxing breakfast room on the top floor with lovely views and serving a good quality spread of food with top ingredients.. We will be back for sure.

Hotel in a great location, a small, cute dining room with a diverse range of food, kindness of the staff, upon check-in, we were given free train tickets for the duration of our stay, which was a surprise. Upon arrival in the room, small chocolates awaited us on the beds. Since it is Advent time, the hotel is also beautifully decorated I highly recommend staying at the hotel

We stayed in Avalon Hotel one night, to take rest of a long ride with car. We got everything we needed: a clean room with warm shower and a comfortable bed. When we woke up in the morning, we had a beautiful view on mountains. The breakfast is being served on the top floor, with a great view on the city. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Good location right across the railway station, nicely renovated and comfortable, staff very kind and helpful; nice and stress-free breakfast with a lovely panoramic view on the surrounding mountains and Predigstuhlbahn station, enjoyable even if the weather is rainy. Bus station 3 min walk, buses direction Koenigsee or Salzburg, free of charge with the Guest card; easy to move around even w/o a car

Not much to dislike about this hotel to be honest. It offers underground parking for a fee which is typical for most hotels in Europe. It’s situated downtown where space is at a premium so access to the parking facility is by elevator (lift) not a ramp. The parking entrance is at the side of the hotel. You need to scan your hotel card to open the gray garage door. The green light will prompt you to enter the elevator. Turn off the car’s ignition and press the button to take you down to the lower garage level (-1). Parking spaces are a bit tight so don’t bring a big car. Exiting the garage is simple. Pull on the rope suspended from the ceiling and the garage door will open. It’s all a bit quirky; but you get used to it. The only real complaint is that the hotel doesn’t have a circular drive in front of the hotel where you can park and unload your luggage. There is a small parking lot across the street where you can park temporarily while you check in.

Avalon is a downtown hotel that delivers 100% on everything it promises. Our room was modern and impeccably clean. The carpet was new and spotless. Unlike what you find in the typical Bavarian Gasthaus, the shower, counter, mirror and bathroom fixtures were updated and modern. Toiletries were luxurious. A wide ledge runs along the wall that’s convenient for storing cosmetics etc. We didn’t hear our neighbors so noise abatement between rooms is excellent. The staff is kind and helpful. Breakfast is buffet style with a decent variety of cheeses, meats and pastries that you typically find in a German hotel. You can special order eggs and bacon from the waitress. An interesting feature about this hotel is that the doors in the public areas of the hotel open automatically when you approach them. Great when you have your hands full of luggage. Climate change has reached Germany too, and recent summers have been quite hot. Fortunately, the Avalon is fully air-conditioned, a rare treat. The hotel is located across the street from the main Bahnhof (train station) so it’s super convenient for those who don’t want to rent a car. The hotel provides free discount coupons for local attractions. If you want to sample Bavarian food there’s an amazing restaurant situated two blocks behind the hotel. I believe it’s called the Wiesenen. Try their mixed salad it’s to die for. There’s an Aldi supermarket down the street. The main shopping area is a 10 minute walk away. We loved this hotel so much that we are planning to return next July. The hotel offers coupons for reduced fares for return customers.

Everything was perfect for us.

We really enjoyed the hotel and the city. It was perfect for us. The hotel is very pleasant, the staff is kind and helpful. The family room is spacious and very comfortably organized. There were five of us and we didn't feel crowded. The beds and linens are excellent, the air conditioning is very quiet. A spacious and pleasant shower. Varied and delicious breakfast. The city is also very pleasant and we enjoyed walking around it.

Balkonymarkise worked strangely. It would be nice to have a chance, sitting on the balcony while it was raining, to enjoy a good cigarette, but unfortunately it was impossible.

People make better or worse everything that they touch. I met very pleasant people in this hotel who created a warm atmosphere, so I had lovely days here.

Sadly there was no restaurant for lunch or dinner. However the bar does offer snacks such as olives, antipasti plates, sandwiches and nachos with dips. Do not let the lack of a restaurant put you off staying at this lovely hotel !

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and the welcome was warm. This is a family run hotel and they are very obviously proud of what they do. Our room was very clean (as was the rest of the hotel). Also very comfortable and well equipped with air con. large TV and Nespresso coffee machine. Lovely views from the 5th floor breakfast room which was buffet style "continental" breakfast, (Bread, croissants, meats, cheese, fruit, smoked salmon, yogurt etc.) A pleasant surprise was a "guest card" issued by the local tourist board which gives you free local bus and train travel as well as discounts at regional attractions including the Kehlsteinhaus and Jennerbahn cable car. The hotel is directly opposite the train and bus stations and is about a 10 minute walk in to the centre of town for restaurants etc, My wife and I couldn't fault this hotel and look forward to returning one day. Highly recommended.

The pillows weren't the most comfortable, but I guess it's also a matter of personal preference.
