Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

AustraliaThe property was clean and the rooms modern. The staff and manager were great. Special call out to Chris who is a charming man. Neel helped me also when I had made an error in my booking that gave me some bill shock. Neel spoke to his manager who was generous towards me. All the staff spoke to me introducing themselves and were super friendly. The rooms were clean, the pool epic, the location is on the beach and near the local shops great for getting drinking water. I was surprised to preorder my food for dinner during the day but it makes sense. Less waste, fresher food and it was cute to get a watsapp with “ Will you be back for dinner, what would you like ?” Tea and milk was generously refilled. On my last night in Fiji I had to move to a larger resort where I paid a lot more but did not have as nicer stay.

AustraliaWater pressure is not very stable. They did not reply any booking.com messages, but they reply on all questions onsite.
There are so many good things. Super friendly and helpful staff. You can order everything in advance by messaging admin on What’s up group from your room. They help you to do any water activity they have near the hotel on the reef, and they are all free event. Room is super nice (old and new one). We got upgrade to ground floor pool/ocean view villa as the room we booked have a broken bath tab. Best place we stayed in Fiji so far! Thanks Chris, Neel, Aku, Api, Norman and more.

AustraliaWe are regular visitors to Fiji and have stayed in a few different locations but wow, did we have the most incredible time at the Maui Palms! We loved the ‘boutique’ size of the resort and the relatively few guests. Also loved the beachfront cabins which overlook a lovely pool and, of course, the beach! We enjoyed ordering our meals and recieving daily schedules and information via a Group Chat - so much easier! We also appreciated the staff bringing our meals to the cabin or pool if requested (no extra fee). The reef is gobsmackingly beautiful - like swimming in a tropical fishtank. We snorkled for hours and hours and kept seeing new fish and coral! There are good quality kayaks, SUPs, snorkle gear and a bunch of stuff for visitors to use, free of charge. Try swimming from the resort to the pier at high tide just for the challenge (coming back is harder … I may have walked!). We loved wondering along the extensive beachfront at dusk and dawn. While all of that is great, it is the warm, caring and lovely staff at Maui Palms that makes this resort truly special. From the warm welcome by Chris through to wonderful in-house massages, guided hikes, guided snorkling … everyone goes out of their way to make sure you have a lovely time. The staff can’t do enough to help, from the manager through to maintenance people . Huge thanks to Apisa, Aku, Felix, Misi, Liti, Tina, Ima, Sonari and anyone I have missed! Everyone felt like friends after staying for a week. I never return to the same place twice … but I will be going back to the Maui again and again. Loved, loved, loved our stay at Maui Palms!

United StatesSome of the rooms could use a bit of TLC, but they are recovering a bit from the COVID years and it is a humid environment which can cause more wear on the older buildings. You can tell they are actively trying to address any issues.
The hospitality at Maui Palms was better than any place I’ve stayed. The staff is amazing! The food was great. The views are exceptional. The snorkeling and activities provided by the staff were incredible.

United KingdomThe most amazing 5 nights here - the staff were exceptional and some of the loveliest people we’ve ever met. We came during wet season and only had one full day of rain - loved snorkelling straight off beach opposite the hotel and Felix was amazing when he went snorkelling with us - we saw baby reef sharks, amazing coral, giant clams among the many cool things. We would’ve loved to have stayed longer. What an amazing place this is. Food was unreal too!! Loved every minute. Thanks Maui Palms and all the amazing staff ❤️

New ZealandThe location was fabulous - snorkelling right off the beach. The resort was very clean, tidy and well kept. The food was amazing, very fresh and tasty. Special thanks to Acu for going the extra mile to welcome us and guide us, Felix for his expertise and Chris and Neel for helping us organize everything. The staff are the real treasure here - every single person was so welcoming and helpful it felt like we were family. We will recommend Maui Palms to anyone looking to come to Fiji.

New ZealandThe only thing that we didn't enjoy was the price of the meals which were on the higher end, however portion sizes were average. The taste was fine but couldn't justify the cost. For this reason we walked down the road (about 10 mins) to eat. There are 4 different places to eat, all very reasonably priced and each offering a different type of cuisine.
Chris and the team are amazing! When we arrived (family of 5, including 3 teenagers), we didn't realize that some of our rooms were in the villas and the others were in the apartments. We asked if we could have all our rooms in the apartments and Chris quickly made the changes effortlessly. Every request we sent to Chris was responded to promptly from ordering food, taxi's and requesting updates to the rooms. I also appreciated Chris proactively sending a list of the daily activities, which were fun! Matai helped my children and I kayak for the first time and came into the water with us until we were confident to navigate on our own. Loved it! The snorkelling was amazing with beautiful coral in our accommodation's back yard. Every single staff member we met was so friendly and helpful. Thank you for an amazing stay Maui Palms.

New ZealandWe stayed in the apartments and they were clean and comfortable but not as well polished as the rest of the resort. Food was quite expensive at the resort so we alternated between eating there and the places across the road which were very good. We wish communication about the activities was a little bit better such as how long activities would be. I did get some bad cuts on the hiking so maybe check if you need long pants if they are going the same way we did.
Great location. Staff were all lovely. The restaurant food was really good quality. We had a wonderful time.

The rooms were very clean.with a lovely view. A big shout out to Felix who was wonderful company and took me out kayaking and snorkelling.. Ima, Norman and Matai were lovely. Just really lovely friendly staff in a boutique smaller style Resort.. I went with my two sons 16 and 18, and they enjoyed it. United StatesThe food was the only thing that could have been improved. Some meals were fantastic, others missed the mark. It could be helpful to shorten their menu and focus on their best dishes.
Maui Palms provided an exceptional stay. Coming with a large group of friends, the staff was extremely accomodating and friendly. Every day they had a host of fun activities we could participate in or just relax hanging on the beach or by the pool. As someone who likes to be active, I enjoyed all the snorkeling, especially with the amazing reefs located right at their beach front. The facilities themselves were also wonderful. I stayed in the new building, which had all the luxuries needed, including a huge bathtub perfect for a post-snorkel soak.
