“Lovely self contained place, with a well equipped kitchen. Steph, the owner, is super nice + helpful and provided some great recommendations. He also offered us his paddle board to go down to the local river.
Conveniently located a short distance from where our friends were getting married and a 10 minute walk into town in the other direction.”

“This place is historic. What a privilege to stay in such a place which has been in the same family since before the french revolution. Do not expect a TV in your room. Do expect dated fixtures and fittings in an enormous stately bedroom suite. Breakfast will include produce grown on the estate made by the hand of Madame la Marquise who lives there full time. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful. Situated just outside the village on the banks of the Charente there are a few restaurants which are within walking distance (but make a reservation). Treat yourself to a stay here and help preserve this piece of history in a magical location..”
