Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

South AfricaRoom was great, but it was just a little small. But really happy with it.
Lovely place and highly recommend! It close to the road with few resturants, bakery etc and you cant hear any noise so nice and quiet! The train station is close and really useful. There was a bus that does take you from the road down, but we were always happy to do the walk.

SpainThere are only two parking spaces in front of the hotel, on a very narrow, steeply sloping street. Parking in the area is very complicated and you have to pay for everything. The paid parking in front also has very narrow spaces, with a large car it is very difficult to park there. The basement rooms are small spaces, they don't appear in the hotel photos and although they are cheaper, I thought it was only because of the terrace or the views. Having only been there for one night and almost the entire day of sightseeing in Monaco, we didn't care a little, but I don't recommend them. There was also a lot of noise at night, a man in another room was shouting and arguing with another person.
The location is perfect for visiting Monaco without a car, bus 600 Nize-Monaco-Menton stops less than 5 minutes away. The hotel, although somewhat dated, expected it to be much worse based on other reviews I have read. The bed was very comfortable

United KingdomScratching around for something here - I guess all I can think of is that we English would appreciate a kettle for tea-making in the room, but that's not at all a complaint, just what we're used to in the UK.
We had a wonderful 2 nights at Hotel Normandy - thank you Michelle and the team for welcoming us so warmly. We stayed in the triple room with sea-view which was just spectacular. The breakfast was delicious and served till 11, so ideal for a relaxed brunch and then a stroll down to the beach (15mins) or along the amazing Coastal Footpath into Monaco. Highly recommend!

BelgiumThe parking is tricky, it's in a steep street, can be difficult if you are not an expert driver. The shower was a bit old.
The owner and the staff were very kind to us. The breakfast was good although at an extra charge. But the room/terrace where we had breakfast was beautiful and full of paintings and other art from the owner itself, which I enjoyed a lot. We walked to Monaco from here along the coast line. It takes about an hour but it was a beautiful and memorable walk.

AustraliaNothing not to like but a small fridge in the room would have been useful.
Cap d'Ail proved to be a great location within a 10 minute bus ride from the centre of Monte Carlo. The bus stop within a minute of the front door of the hotel. The hotel had a wonderful charm and ambiance. Very helpful and friendly staff.

United KingdomThis is French Falty Towers. The owner is rude and unhelpful. The room is tiny and the whole place is completely run down. The garden area is at best distressed. The room is described as ground floor, it's lower ground floor down a flight of steps. We have been touring this part of Europe for seven weeks, we've stayed at 11 locations and this is the worst by some margin. I've attached a few photos.
The location is good with a local bus to Monaco or Nice.

ItalyThe women (staff) make this hotel fabulous! Sandra, Angie and Noelle could not be more hospitable. I had a stain on my pants. Sandra tan to her home close by to get stain remover to help me sort this out. It’s a great hotel close to town and beach. But it’s the staff that make this hotel so fabulous! Fabulous breakfast/room. They allowed small dogs- mine is a service dog and she loved it.

United StatesNothing was off-putting. You could hear your neighbors a bit but it's an older building. Didn't really bother us at all. Parking could be a bit of a challenge, only two tight spots at the hotel, but we usually parked in the lot up the street (very cheap for the night). One night the lot was full and we found street parking, wasn't bad.
Perfect location. Very close to Monaco, Menton, Eze, Nice (and the airport). Walking distance to the beach. Right across the street from a great bakery. Our view had a balcony with a view of the ocean. If one of the rooms with a balcony is available, jump on it. I noticed not all of them did.
