Despite a technical fault meaning I paid twice, the staff were extremely accommodating and kind which made it absolutely fine.

The stay was generally good. The only issue i had was with room service, I ordered through the phone and spoke to an Asian gentleman whose English was not great and he got my order wrong. I ordered 6 wings and fries, he went on to bring 6 plates of wings a side of fries. When I told him that this was not what I had ordered he insisted I pay for it as he couldn’t take back 5trays of wings, these were £10 per plate. He said he was new to the job etc but this is not an excuse. He became intimidating insisting it was my fault, I ended up paying as I didn’t want to ruin our trip.

Our room hadn't been hoovered well on arrival. There were food remnants in the floor next to the bed. Rest of room ok. The location of the hotel is well away from the main sights however we knew this when we booked. Transport links into the city very good.

We liked the quiet position of the hotel on the riverside. Even though there were construction works going on next to the hotel, it was still very quiet for sleeping. Good breakfast too with lots of choice.

The bed has given me spots on my body and face, the water from the toilet when I gargled my mouth had a nasty after taste and the breakfast was not the best the toast was cooked too crispy

The pube left on my toilet seat was the worst part. I marked down facilities as there wasn't any I wanted to use. This is the first hilton I've been to without a pool. The lighting was 3 lamps and an overhead light by the door. I feel like more lighting would make it easier to put my makeup on.

Loved the cookie on arrival and the cute drinks station by the door. The bed was comfortable, and the room looked spacious. The staff were the best part. I didn't meet a single rude one they were all lovely and went above and beyond.

Lots of disruption for car and walking down dock side, due to building works next door. Prepaying carpark doesn’t guarantee a space, but we luckily got one.

The building work outside the hotel and Excel was irritating because we had to walk much further to get to the station but that's not the hotel's fault.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were very attentive. Breakfast was superb and available from 6.30 till 10.30 (7 till 11 at weekends). The room was quiet. Great shower and a bath too. The air-conditioning was a little loud, a constant hum, but we slept well and it was certainly necessary in August! We've stayed in three other hotels nearby and this is probably the best.

It was a fresh, new hotel that was extremely clean and lived up to previous experiences of stays at other Double tree hotels.

For the money, everything was very good. I wish these chain hotels had a nice big shower enclosure instead of the unusual bath arrangement...who is coming to have a bath at a hotel at the Excel?! We did not use the hotel facilities so cannot comment on the restaurant/bar etc. The only thing to bear in mind is the rooms on the back of the hotel have a great view over the Thames, London City Airport and beyond. Whereas, the rooms on the front overlook a car park and building site. So pick wisely!!

We got the room at the London Excel Hilton Double tree at an excellent price as there was no events at the Excel on that day. As expected from a double Tree our stay was simple but very pleasant. The room was very clean and well appointed. A real highlight was the gentleman one hotel reception, whom could not have been more friendly or helpful.

There was no fridge in the room. Also, there was not enough milk for the hot beverages, and the location was a bit out of the way, which meant restaurants and shops were a bit of a distance away.

Everything was great! The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were kind enough to offer us 2 interconnected rooms, which we really appreciated. Also, the view was surprisingly amazing, looking out onto both the water and the airport. We loved watching planes land, and the sun rising and setting on the water. We had a great time!
