Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. The mattress could have been a bit more comfortable.
The host was very friendly and accommodating, we got on very easily, and had a lot in common.

Listed as a hotel is misleading, it should be listed as a guest house. No private bathroom. The door will not lock, it should at least have a bolt for privacy. The bed is a pull-out couch. The room needs a proper bed.
Very friendly hostess. Large room with huge wall mounted TV, lots of channels to choose from. Bathroom close to bedroom. Good location, close to supermarket and pubs. Did not mind the parrot but it does not like men and says goodbye if you get too close.

Bed not very comfortable, a futon and mattress, so i did not sleep well. It was extremely shabby! But i guess it was value for money at only £36
Elizabeth was really kind and helpful, and got up early to make me a cuppa. It as ok in terms of cleanliness, could have been cleaner. But i was not paying a lot, so cannot expect too much!

Lovely quirky home with a fantastic talking parrot! The bed wasn't super comfortable as it was a sofa bed but it was more than made up for by the friendly warm welcome and cosy atmosphere. Excellent location near the bridges and a short taxi ride from the airport.

The bed is a couch that pulls out. It's been really uncomfortable, the comforter is worn out and dips heavily in the middle so you're constantly rolling to lie on each other. The bed is smaller than a normal french double, so the Problem is even more pronounced. Walls are thin, you hear every sound. We've encountered a large spider in the room in the morning. The light is quite dim and doesn't get real bright. There are only 2 sockets to charge anything.
Very nice family, lively, could hear the parrot a lot at times. Bathroom we shared with them was mostly clean.

I had a truly delightful experience at this property ! The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The room was cozy, clean, and thoughtfully furnished, providing everything I needed. The home-cooked meals were delicious and authentic, and the serene environment made it the perfect place to relax. The host appears to be rude and does not know how to talk properly to guests. She thinks gusts use her as a slave and that she's not a hotel. She has various pets in her house like a parrot and expects the guests to take care of them. In addition, she often vanishes from the house without locking the door or telling how to lock the residence. Overall cheap but not good for long stays
The room was okay.....bed good. TV had Netflix and Amazon Prime and was good enough for a couple

My partner and I only stayed here for one night and left at 3 am for the airport. Was in a very good location for the airport as there is a bus stop to the airport less than 10 minute walk. When we arrived we were welcomed by a lovely lady and her son. There were very nice and welcoming.

Anne is a lovely generous host. I was delighted to meet a bunny and a parrot. We played uno with her son and Anne invited me to some touristy places. I Also broke my phone on one of my adventures, I made it back to the accommodation and Anne took me to get a new one.

Considering the price, nothing at at all.
Room was clean, very comfortable and well appointed - very nice! Bathroom was clean and functional. The view of bridge was impressive as well! Location is perfect: a Co-op shop is one minute walk away, the high street is a few minutes walk away. The hosts were very pleasant and knowledgeable.
