Creaking floors, our room was opposite the toilet and shower facilities so when people were getting up in the morning we could here them walking around

Great location for walks and wildlife. The whole hostel including rooms and facilities were lovely and clean and the staff were all really nice and accommodating

The self catering was in a separate building which, as the weather was wet was a bit inconvenient.

Room was big enough for 6 without being cramped. Location was very convenient

I understand we are all feeling the effects of the cost of living prices inc food and energy so I understand and accept YHA has had to increase the cost of the food it offers within the hostels...but the portion sizes are a little embarrassing... £11.95 for a burger and not even a handful of chips to accompany it. £11.95 for a child size portion of Lasagne which is why my plate was swamped in lettuce to make the portion look bigger than it was haha... Other guests we spoke with all said the same... the meal sizes wouldn't fill a child up...

Having stayed at this YHA previously I love it's location. As usual the staff were superb, polite, friendly, and very informative.

The location is perfect for accessing loads of great hikes in the surrounding area and the hostel itself is really clean. The kitchen facilities are great and there is ample space for dining as well. All the staff are very friendly and helpful, and the car park is an added bonus!

Asking me for photo I'd on check in....I don't carry photo I'd with me as with many other people. Annoying. No towels in room !!....you have to pay to hire them which I find stupid.

The creaking floors in the annex tended to be a source of waking us up during the night every time someone used the loo. That was the only issue, everything else was good.

Really liked the positive and helpful attitude of staff, the location was beautiful and with easy walking access to Grasmere village. The facilities are excellent, whether you want to benefit from breakfast or dinner in the restaurant or being able to cater for yourselves with very well equipped kitchens.

Happy for people to self cater but not allowed to bring own alcohol which I think was a bit off. Other than that, can't complain.

Good facilities, like self catering kitchen, games room, TV room, plenty of books for both adults and kids. Showers and toilets were very clean. Perfect location in beautiful grounds, spotted loads of red squirrels and birds. Would definitely visit again.

Beds were really uncomfortable- could do with mattress being memory foam with protective cover as mattress had a dip in the middle and didn’t get much sleep.

I wasnt paticularrly happy with time of check in. I find most places,allow guests to check in from 3pm. 3pm.sounds like a more reasonable time. Having been out in the hills it would of been nice to rest somewhere straight after. Being told to relax in a cafe untill check in is not ideal either. Also very expensive. "I was off the hills by 2.30pm." I wasn't to keen on the fact that my window didn't lock in room 7. Other than that it was good.🙂

All staff were really friendly and helpful. The rooms were simple and very nice and clean.

The self catering kitchen was on the small size enough for two people at once although an extra kitchen available down in another building but steps quite slippy if wet or icy and not a lot of lighting in the dark and needs resurfacing with tarmac at top step which is uneven also would be nice for the bird feeders to be filled with seed for our feathered friends as there is a great viewing location in the lounge area apart from that no complaints a great place to stay would definitely return

The house was set in a lovely location very warm and inviting the room was clean and spacious and met our needs just newly painted in the reception area with a suited colour scheme beds comfy as they always are staff very pleasant and helpful

The accommodation location and facilities were exactly what we were looking for on our trip to Cumbria. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms were spacious and well kept. The accommodation has everything you need for your stay, and is located in the beautiful village of Grasmere.
