The owner, Sarah, gave us very good advice for everything such as finding good local restaurants, where to visit and etc.
Also, Sarah kindly arranged bus booking and took us to the bus stop although she was very busy.”
“Sulawesi Castle offers big, spacious rooms. From your private balcony you have a great view. The owner, Sarah, is the perfect host. She will help you with whatever you need. She is a very cheerfull and inspiring lady. This is the place to be if you’re visiting beautiful Toraja. We booked 3 nights, but extended our stay till 9 nights! And she bakes really delicious bread and cakes.”
“I stayed for 4 nights at ne pakku homestay and it did not disappoint. The rooms are lovely and the beds are very comfy. Being surrounded / staying in torajan house and rice barns was a really lovely experience. I was lucky enough to attend a ceremony happening right outside of my room on one of the mornings of my stay which was very interesting to see. If you stay here make sure you try the supper - it was the best food I have eaten in sulawesi. The family are very welcoming and friendly and helpful with onward journeys or organizing trips and making you feel at home. There are also stalls/small shops nearby that sell snacks, chocolate and beer. I couldn't recommend this place more highly. 11/10 awesome place to stay in toraja.”
