Having expectations is not recommended. It’s dirty, there are cockroaches in the bathroom and the single room has no windows therefore no fresh air. There is an annoying fan that does little to no job. BUT still better than sleeping in almost same conditions but also with other people.

The reviews here are accordingly to the type of accommodation that someone is looking for. If the purpose is to just spend the night as cheap as possible then it’s perfect. The host is super welcoming and contributes big time to the experience. He taught me how to play domino and took me to a local chicken fight that was thrilling even if it was brutal ! Had a tradition breakfast for free and tea. Just spend the night and continued my trip.

This place is crap. We ended up paying for three nights but regretted not having paid a little bit more money and going to another place instead. It needs serious refurbishment. it’s seriously not looked after, and the owner is greedy and just wants your money without making any effort. He, for example, wants to persuade you to play games with you for money. i haven't seen him lose a single time. so be aware. There are cockroaches in the bathroom, rats, and no proper bedding. There are so many broken fans and broken beds. Why not just throw them away and clean up a bit? The dolphin tour, which is by the owners uncle, is terrible in comparison to other dolphin tours. We stayed for 5 minutes seeing the dolphins, and then he told us we can’t swim here because we didn’t get the full package, we had to swim somewhere else, not with the dolphins. My partner did the tour with someone else (have a look on maps for lovina dolphin_35) and had an amazing experience. The lady (Ayu) who works there is very sweet, and i feel sorry for her that she has to put up with the (what seems like drunk) owner. Also, it says there is a pool online, and there is not. No towels were provided. Lack of toilet paper in bathrooms. It could be nice, so they need to make changes. You will find a better place than this for not too much money.

Ayu, who is one of the staff, is really nice. She makes an effort to keep the place clean and is generally a helpful und kind person. I felt sorry for her...

The shower water smelled like ocean water and the toilet didn't have water to wash after doing the business. I had to use tissue, that works for Western people, but for me as an Asian, I would have appreciated it if there was a water pipe.

What a great hostel and people! I had such a great stay and met some amazing people! Location is amazing (pure center of Lovina), price is affordable and the staff is the best! Huge thanks to Ayu for helping me with everything possible during my stay! 🥰 The owner is also really kind and chilled person! The hostel vibe and like minded travelers makes you stay longer than expected which was my case. I highly recommend this hostel and I will come here for sure if I visit Northern Bali again! The beds are too small, no light in the dorm, not very clean. They really want to sell their activities, even though I was leaving the next morning.

- room smelled totally mold - pool broken - kitchen, DISGUSTING - just one small lightbulb in the room but not even a window… we could not see anything without our flashlight - we were barely 5min in the room and immediately canceled our booking…, lost 75% of our money!!! Needed to book another accommodation!! We know the Indonesian standards are lower but even for them that’s just disgusting

The owner was a bit wierd. Pushing you to buy his dolphins boat tour. The hostel is not great, every old and not berry clean. Don't rent the motorbikes in the place recommend by the owner, the brakes of my motorbike were not working well and I had an accident because of this. Avoid this place if you can!

I arrived only to be told the private room I had booked had been given to someone else because they wanted to extend. There was no communication to tell me this before arrival. I was given the option to stay in a dorm room or get a refund. After looking at the dorm room, I opted for a full refund. Another couple had the same problem and opted for a refund too. It looked like a prison cell with two bunk beds on either side, a window that was dark behind it. Facilities were poor. Very dark room. Wouldn't recommend booking into the dorms. I never saw the private room, so I can't comment on that. Very happy to be given a full refund. Found a much nicer homestay a couple of minutes away for less.

Apollo hostel has everything you might need! Comfortable beds, access to lockers for safety, inside and outside chilling areas, fridge to keep your food cool, cold and hot water, breakfast is included, everything is clean and the host is the nicest, kindest and most genuine man ever. He is also a great teacher of playing bingo :) He recommended us things to do in the area, all of them were really worth the time, and the scuba diving trip and swimming with dolphins we booked through him were absolutely great. I was sad to leave because it really felt like home. We really came as strangers and left as friends, as the sign by the door of Apollo hostel says.

The Apollo Hostel has two idyllic outdoor areas. The outdoor area behind the house even has a direct view of the mountains and a rice field. Here you can perfectly unwind. The beach is only a 7 minute walk away. I would love to come back!
