We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

LatviaThe food was average in the restaurant. Coffee was terrible. The restaurant at the top of the beach, by the sky tram was outdated and needed some improvements.
Amazing staff, very friendly and professional reception. Anticipated our needs. Beach access. Our turtle and monkeys! The room was nicely decorated for our arrival. Spacious rooms and bathroom. Nice deep pool. Clean bedsheets and good variety in the mini bar. Good selection of vines at the restaurant. The restaurant staff was amazing. Good cocktails and pizza at the beach bar. Great staff at the beach bar.

United Arab EmiratesThe food was OK but not at a level it should be to compliment the wow factor of the rest of the hotel, it was also much more expensive than food we had enjoyed elsewhere.
Location was incredible. Staff were friendly. Spa was on a totally different level, and the 3 bed pool villa was absolutely perfect way for our family to relax after a lot of traveling around.

Hong KongBreakfast was rather basic, with very limited offering at the buffet (ie. no egg station!) There is only one restaurant and another small food counter at the beach club. Compared to Bali standards, I would recommend to not eat at the hotel and go out. The food served in the resorts is overpriced / not as good VS other restaurants in Uluwatu
Beautiful beach and lagoon, with great service. Private villas are spacious and the overall service is efficient, friendly. The resort is nicely designed and offers easy access to other beach clubs nearby.

United KingdomUnfortunately, we experienced a really unwelcoming check-in. As well as being treated rudely, we were given no information about the hotel, restaurants, etc. This is important because the hotel has many services to offer and multiple restaurants that we really missed out on several great opportunities given we were there for only two nights. Separately, the hotel charges USD5 for a small bottle of still water. There were no large bottles of water available, which was really odd. Lastly, some of the staff were really focused on the upsell. At every turn, someone was offering us an upgrade for 10M Rpis or a late checkout for 6M Rpis. It felt a little desperate
We had a beautiful villa. Quiet, private and a really good size.

Hong KongThe reception lobby area is fine but just the set up is a little odd, room for improvement I would say. There are not a lot of buggies and sometimes it takes a long time to get one so I would suggest if walking is an option, walking might be a better choice. The PR lady is nice and she is always around trying to connect with the guest...but I would say maybe she is not so socially savvy as to reading the room. A few awkward encounter where we were having some private conversations and she just awkwardly hung out but its obvious that she takes her job seriously and is trying to be helpful. Book your spa early because it fills up super fast, we didn't plan ahead and missed out on a spa day so can't vouch for how good it is but some of the rooms had amazing views. The crowd is generally a little older and more families but overall very peaceful and serene.
We LOVED the staff, all of the local staff were simply sublime. Everyone was so friendly, courteous and helpful. The location of the hotel is gorgeous, I would suggest either going early or later for breakfast to get the best view. We also really enjoyed the food, we had lunch and dinner at the hotel and every dish was delicious!! I am sure I had a pandan coffee (less sweet) daily, if you love pandan, you will love this drink! We were also very lucky that the weekend we stayed, they had a resident artist that I liked that was offering a workshop. It was a really nicely planned event; painting by the beach was such an amazing experience. Their beach club was also really lovely, shame that their lift is shut down by the government at the moment but their shuttle bus system works just fine. Definitely worth checking out! Food down by the beach is not as nice as the food by the pool though. The location was perfect for what we needed as we flew in for a wedding at The Ungasan.

United KingdomThe property was very far away from the hustle and bustle of Uluwathu. Access for disabled non existent as lots of steps. You have to be superfit to get to the beach as if you go with shuttle bus, there are still quite a number of high steps to climb/descend. There was also a very hard sell on becoming a member and felt ambushed by the sales team. Lobby very small and crammed.
The staff was very friendly and the reef just outside the beach was lovely. The service was also great, with quick responses. The app worked really well!

AustraliaWe had half board so breakfast lunch dinner and selected cocktails and drinks included. The inclusions for meals got a little old after a day or two. Not a lot of variety. Very catered to the Indian clientele. When we booked our accommodation, it was sold as all inclusive with unlimited alcohol & other drinks, and we could eat at both restaurants i.e. the main restaurant and beach restaurants, however, it was removed months later and the hotel changed the conditions. We had to contact the hotel to rectify this, hence the upgrade to the 2 bedroom villa. The cable car was also closed for the entirety of our stay due to maintenance. We were not advised this prior to arriving. There was also maintenance on a stretch of the path way to the main restaurant. As we had a baby, we had to take a private car to the restaurant for all our meals, or carry our stroller and baby up and down multiple flights of stairs to reach the main restaurant. It was very time consuming. The karma is not stroller friendly. The restaurant is also open air so in November when they have increased humidity, it was quite unbearable for our young family. In saying all this, we stayed at the karma last year as a couple (pre baby) and it was fantastic and of course, if we didn't have the baby/stroller, there would of been no issue walking to the restaurant. The karma is definitely catered to couples (and families that rather put their kids into the kids club), rather than young families. With the cable car out of action, this limited our time at the beach, which is one of the karmas main draw card, as it took about 15 mins to get to the beach, then we had to walk about 100 stairs up and down to get to the beach club/restaurants. This was all quite a deterrent with a baby.
The villa was fantastic. We (2 adults & 1 baby - 7 months) were upgraded to a 2 bedroom villa. The villa was extremely spacious but quite a small pool compared to our villa at the Karma last year. The staff accommodated us with a cot for our baby and set up a teepee with a gift in it (rattle & music toy) for our baby. It was quite a nice touch. Great meals at the main restaurant. Breakfast was fantastic with a wide variety of al la carte meals and a buffet of fresh fruit, pastries, other hot food, toast, and specialised coffee (all included). The staff at the Karma are brilliant and that's one aspect I could never fault. Very friendly, accommodating and they love babies. Cleanliness was exceptional and the staff happily restocked the water whenever we ran our. The Karma also provided us with our arrival airport transfer and had a baby car seat ready for our bub.

Villa within a resort was convenient, breakfast was included we were able to select a meal from a set menu which had a good variety. Villa was good size with big living area and big bedrooms and filtered water tank in room was also good especially with a baby.

SurinameAt the reservation, I was not sure if the villa would be able accommodate three persons, since the description indicated a two persons villa. So I paid for an extra bed. Upon arrival there was a sofa-bed in the living room, which would be more than enough to facilitate a 9 year old. I found the extra bed in front of the closet and the mirror and nearly blocking the way to the bathroom. I requested to remove the extra bed since it was redundant and made the space cramped. I probably misunderstood since in the description of the facilities did indicate a sofa bed. But my point is, if the villa can accommodate 4 persons (including the sofa bed) why upsell the extra bed and promote the villa as a two-persons accommodation. And even if a customer purchase an extra bed, it would be proof of good service to inform the client that it is not necessary. Another bad experience, is while ordering food at the beach restaurant, my son changed his mind and ordered something else. The initial ordering stayed. The waiter did repeat the order (so it is obviously still my mistake for not checking the right order), but he could have mentioned that 4 meals and the portions of the meals are to much for two and a half persons. At the breakfast we had the option to select a la carte breakfast besides the breakfast buffet. The first morning we already filled our appetite with the buffet breakfast since the order came longer than 15 minutes later. The same happened the second day while also bringing the wrong order for me. AIthough professionally set-up and very nice staff, I would appreciate a more human approach and less commercial approach.
The facilities are on a 5 stars-level as expected.

Saudi Arabia- My booking was breakfast including, however we were surprise that we cannot use the buffet and we were limited to one order of breakfast each as the buffet is for members only which is quite weird and doesn’t make sense since my booking is including breakfast. - Received the villa with multiple spots on bed sheets and hair in floors, asked them to re-clean the room which they did but did not remove the hair or change the sheet even though we asked to do so specifically, had to request a 3rd cleaning and watch the guy to change the sheets and show him the collected hair in the floor to clean. - they have a beautiful beach, went there and was surprised that there is no sun-beds or chairs or any sort of appropriate way of enjoying the beach because we didn’t have a reservation, even though reception informed us that this beach is private and for hotel residents, plus there was quite a few sun-beds free, had to basically insist that those sun beds are free and we are hotel residents and want them, then they allowed us to use them.
Beautiful facilities and views, friendly staff, good overall stay a few bad things happened which will be mentioned, We visited for our honeymoon and they gifted us with a free upgrade to a three bedroom villa with a pool instead of a 1 bedroom villa with a pool which is quite appreciated.

AustraliaFor the price we were paying the Villa could have been better. The kitchen was outdated and the dishwasher didn’t work. A piece of wood fell off the door and was left by housekeeping for the entire stay. The Indonesian dinner was disappointing.

IndonesiaKinda disappointing having 1 menu only as our breakfast as 'regular' guest while seeing other 'members' having buffet, back and forth passing our table. I wouldn't choose this resort, if I knew there would be a different treatment toward the guest. If they wanted to differentiate the guest, better they separated the venue as well.
