Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

HungaryThe long and slow transfer from the airport due to the high trafic but obviously this is not something the hotel can influence
The hotel is far away from everything, it is the perfect place for relaxation. Quiet, not crowded, you can find your privacy and hide away from the crazy weekdays. The staff organizes everything you may wish, they also provde free programs, like cooking class which is fun. The spa and escpecially the Samudra signature massage is excellent and we strongly recommend it. We were very touched by the small gifts received at check-out. The time we spent here was the perferct holiday what we really needed. I'm sure if we return to Bali we will stay again here.

GermanyNothing at all
The secluded location offers stunning beach views and perfect tranquility. The food was exceptional, with delicious options for every meal showcasing both local and international flavors. What truly sets this resort apart is the outstanding service - the staff went above and beyond, even taking exceptional care of me when I fell sick for a day. The resort-arranged excursions, especially the jeep tour, took us to authentic, less touristy areas with a knowledgeable guide. Kelepa Resort is a hidden gem offering the perfect balance of serenity, excellent cuisine, and memorable adventures. Can't wait to return!

AustraliaThe drive to get there. It is a long way on a very busy road. But the pay off is worth it.
If you want to escape, completely chill out and relax, then this resort is perfection. We have absolutely loved our stay here for some downtime together. Yes, it is a long drive from the airport, and there is very little outside the resort, and even then, it is very localised. But... that's not why you would come here. You come for peace and tranquillity, a gorgeous black sand beach, lovely food, a sensational spa, and absolutely phenomenal staff!!! The staff honestly are absolutely outstanding. Every need is catered for. They are genuine and oh so kind. Literally, anything you need or ask for is sorted instantly. And there are so many lovely little touches that make it very special. We stayed in both a garden pool villa and a beach pool villa. Both were lovely, but the beach one was absolutely heavenly. For complete privacy, the garden is better. However, the aesthetic and view from the beach one is stunning. We stayed in Villa 12. I recommend the half board package, as there really is not the option to go anywhere else. And the restaurant is lovely, with a wonderful variety of options. When looking on google maps it looks like there are a few warungs etc close by - they aren't open. If you have a scooter (beware of potholes - from a peersonal accident perspective) there are some great little coffee spots and surf spots within 15 mins of the at Medewi. And just on from there Wakey Wakey and Bombolinis. Thank you Kelapa Retreat for taking such wonderful, considerate care of us and sharing your little piece of paradise. We will 100% be back.

United KingdomKelapa retreat is in a stunning beach front location. The beach is very clean and quiet and beautiful to both look at and listen to. The open air dining room fronts directly onto the beach and serves both local and western style food. It is very clean and serves nicely cooked food. The rooms are spacious and our sea view from the room (room 13) was amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed the local Balinese evening and were absolutely blown away by the effort of the staff to create a ‘stage’ for the performance. Do not miss this show! We were served a beautiful local Balinese meal although if western food is your preference then that is also available too. However, the best thing about Kelapa Retreat and Spa has to be the staff. Each and every one of them goes above and beyond to make your holiday and experience the best possible. Their kindness and thoughtfulness is simply amazing! I really do think they go above and beyond the call of duty and cannot thank them enough.

AustraliaI loved everything about Kelapa.
The grounds are immaculate, well presented and the staff add little touches like flowers on the stairs to enhance the beautiful location. The food, drinks and service in the restaurant is of such a high quality and is delicious. I loved every meal I ate at the resort, including the superb buffet breakfast. The rooms are exceptionally clean, well laid out and spacious. The spa treatments are spectacular - we thoroughly enjoyed our massages and facials and received such wonderful service. The best part of this resort is the staff - they are helpful, friendly, cannot do enough for you and make your stay such a pleasurable experience. I recommend this resort to anyone wanting a relaxing and amazing stay away from the busy parts of Bali (3-4 hour drive from Denpasar airport). I cannot wait to return to Kelapa.

AustraliaThe only thing was the drive from the airport, we knew from reading it said it would be 3 hours which we were fine with, however it’s more like 4-5 hrs. Even so we still would have made the trip to go to this peaceful location.
We loved everything about this resort. From the moment we got there the staff were so accomodating and quick to help us with anything we needed, from extra items, carrying our bags or room service. They were very friendly and went to a lot of effort to put on a christmas eve dinner in the garden. We stayed in the ocean villa with a private pool and it was absolutely worth it, the view/pool was amazing and very relaxing. There are free activities they put on each day which we signed up too and the spa was lovely by the ocean. The food in the restaurant was amazing everyday and the chef is clearly very passionate about providing the best food. Overall the whole property was incredible including the views from the restaurant, the infinity pool, lounge chairs etc. We will absolutely visit again.

Australia- Being in a tropical environment where it rains, there were some moths which flew into the room. However easy communication with reception meant housekeeping came quickly and removed the bugs and set up mosquito deterrents outside and towels under the door. We had no problems after that for any of the other days. There are also some ants but these are usually on the table and not anything significant. In terms of bugs outside, if you have insect repellant on, there’s no problems. - We tried the yoga class and asked for a more active session but maybe because of language barriers we ended up with what was essentially a pricy 30 minute nap session. - The beach doesn’t quite compare to the beaches in Australia (some mornings there’s rubbish washed up but this is usually cleared) so we didn’t go much, but the sound of the waves from our room and from the spa was very soothing.
- Service: The people who work here went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. You don’t have to lift a finger and we felt very taken care of. We’ve stayed at other five star hotels in the past and have never experienced this level of service before so a huge thank you to everyone from the restaurant team, to housekeepers, grounds team and the reception team. Little things like the chocolate mud cake (so yum), petals and the different shaped towel animals on the bed, really made our day. - Spa: We went to the spa every day and enjoyed massages and facials. The tea afterwards was also one of our favourite things. - Food: This was our first time in Indonesia so we weren’t really sure what to expect but were keen to try the Indonesian food on the menu. Needless to say we were blown away by the depth of flavours produced by Huda (the executive chef) and his team. After attending the free cooking class offered by the resort, Huda explained how he’s inspired by the local ingredients and aims to incorporate this into his menu. He has a real passion for food, ensuring everything is unprocessed as much as possible, and guided by his recommendations we enjoyed some Indonesian specials not yet on the menu (although we have been assured that they are coming soon). As a heads up, the food does take a little bit longer to come out from the kitchen (30-40 mins) but if you have a chance to experience the cooking class and see how they make each of the sauces/pastes from scratch, freshly prepared it makes a lot of sense. Another highlight was the breakfast buffet. It’s mostly different every day and includes a mix of Indonesian and Western food. There is a huge selection to choose from.

United StatesThe extra charge for water (over 4 bottles for 2 people) was surprising. For health reasons, I have to drink over 100 ounces of water daily. Not having a car nor a store close by made it difficult to get water elsewhere. Maybe have additional daily activities. Yoga on the beach? A fun batik class?
Loved the view from the room. (#12) Exceptional. The restaurant was lovely and good was delicious. Great pool. Fantastic spa and personnel.
