Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

QatarStaff is great - hospitable and genuinely work hard to make your stay comfortable. Breakfast was great! Definitely not a 5-star property. It is advertised as a 5-star on booking.com. The hotel’s website itself shows it as a 4-star. I would argue it’s a good 3-star or at best a 4-star.

PortugalThe resort is a 15-20 min drive from/to Ubud center, but there is a free shuttle provided and even if you need to call a Grab the cost is very affordable. The final stretch of road that leads to the hotel is bumpy though and really needs to be fixed, but that’s an issue that needs to be addressed by the local authority and is not the hotel responsibility.
The Alena Resort was an amazing experience. The attention to details and the top-notch service provided by the staff were the highlights of this hotel. The ambiance of the resort was one of a tropical paradise. The food at the restaurant was very good, varied and adequate to different culinary tastes. We didn’t use the spa, but loved the pool areas and the surrounding gardens. The gym was adequate (as far as a hotel gym goes).

SwitzerlandThe hotel exceeded all our expectations and more. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed. The food was excellent, and the staff, especially Dewa and his team, went above and beyond to assist us with every request. Traveling with two kids, we truly appreciated how the hotel made us feel at home. Our one-bedroom villa was perfect for a family stay, with a private pool that kept the kids entertained throughout. We came here to relax, and we are leaving feeling completely rejuvenated. The massages were exceptional, adding to the overall sense of relaxation. The restaurant offered a wide variety of meals, and as a vegetarian, I was especially pleased with the diverse options available. Afternoon tea was a delight, and I loved trying different Balinese desserts. Despite being close to numerous activities, the hotel maintains a peaceful and quiet atmosphere. The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and housekeeping did a fantastic job. I can only highly recommend this hotel—it truly offers a perfect balance of comfort, service, and relaxation.

AustraliaThe only two comments I have, the gym opens at 9 which can be a bit late for some, and the resort is located off road which can be hard to get to.
The experience was wonderful, the staff, everyone of them was helpful and delightful. The rooms had a Balinese feeling, the pools were nice and we had fun and relaxing time. The yoga was one of the best I had!

AustraliaOne day it was raining and I requested food from the reception to be brought to the room. They said it wasn’t in their policy even though they did it the previous day. When I went to pick up the food there was a group of staff standing around not busy. For extra service simply helping me bring the food in the rain so I didn’t need to leave the children alone in the room would have been 5 star service.
Friendly staff. Nice breakfast. Yoga was beautiful in the morning. Kids love the pool

United Arab EmiratesTBH there was nothing that I did not like.
The property is beautiful and close to the Ubud city centre. The rooms are beautifully done with a big balcony facing the pool that adds to the feel. The staff went above and beyond to make sure that we were comfortable. They helped us plan our day tours and booked vintage car, motor bike and other mode of transport that we asked for. The restaurant and spa were great as well. The only issue we had was with the very "loud" and "uncivil" neighbour who played music and conversed loudly (almost seemed like a fight) in their room. We complained at the front desk and quick actions were taken (infact multiple times) to make sure that the issue was resolved. Thanks to the staff for their constant help and support all though our stay.

NetherlandsThe only thing I can think of is that the resort is a bit on the expensive side. For example, a can of coke from the minibar, which cost more than 3.5 euros (incl. tax). I think it's quite a lot of money.
Really, a beautiful resort!! I have never seen such a beautiful and well-maintained resort in Bali. Everywhere you look there are plants and flowers, it's like you're in the middle of the jungle. The villa I stayed in was sublime. Everything was very clean, well maintained, very nice beds and the staff did their best to make you feel at home. The pool was heavenly, very large and during the day it was in the middle of the sunshine. Despite the fact that it was a large resort, you hardly noticed it. Except if you went to breakfast or dinner. Only then did you see how many people were actually staying at the resort.

NamibiaNothing, everything was a 10/10 no lie.
This is by far one of the most beautiful Resort that I have stayed at. The Resort is clean, with a very unique feel of the Balinese people. The rooms are spacious and have a modern touch. The amenities like the Spar, jacuzzi and gym are all in superb condition. And the Staff are so welcoming, always ready to lend a helping hand with a smile. Here you are made to feel like absolutely royalty. A special thank you to Mr Gusti, our driver and tour guide, you sir are amazing, thank you for making us feel safe and for thoroughly giving us explanations at every site we’ve visited. We left with so much knowledge about the Balinese people, their culture, religion and way of life. Thanks to you and thanks to the entire Alena Resort team for an amazing stay. Will definitely be coming back!
