Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Saudi ArabiaAbsolutely perfect, not a single flaw.
Staying at The Viceroy Bali was the best decision we made during our trip to Bali. This family-owned luxury resort offers more than just five-star service, it provides an unforgettable experience nestled in the lush jungles of Ubud. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was extraordinary. The staff’s warmth, attention to detail, and unwavering dedication to guest satisfaction made us feel truly valued. The views are absolutely breathtaking, and every corner of the resort feels like a slice of paradise. Breakfast with a view was a daily highlight, featuring perfectly cooked eggs, fresh pastries, and the best coffee in Bali. For a world-class culinary experience, Apéritif Restaurant is a must—one of Ubud’s finest. Even when we encountered a minor issue, it was resolved promptly and with genuine care, further proving the team’s exceptional service. The longer we stayed, the more connected we felt to this magical place. It elevated our entire Bali experience, and we are already dreaming of our return. Without a doubt, If you’re heading to Ubud, don’t think twice, don’t think twice, this is the place to stay. It’s not just a luxury resort; it’s an experience, a sanctuary and is a haven of indulgence.

RomaniaAlthough it is a domaine with 65 villas, there is no place to walk and enjoy the nature.
Great place, location, amenities, facilities, staff, food &drinks, pools, Spa! The Social Club from Aperitif is an amazing place to be in! We were spoiled with a most intimate Villa, with preheated pool (you hardly can find it anywhere else), heart roses, anniversary cake, daily basket fruits. They offer free shuttle to/from Ubud.

AustraliaNothing at all, everything was perfect.
We had five nights here for our honeymoon and Viceroy Bali was nothing short of exceptional. Our deluxe villa was heavenly and the resort itself was absolutely stunning, with beautiful thatched villas, infinity pools, and beautiful breezy bar and restaurant areas, all overlooking the jungle. Breakfast and dinner and Cascades was wonderful. We also had the pleasure of having cocktails in Pinstripe bar and dinner at Apertif restaurant, which was simply the most amazing fine dining experience we have ever had. Above all though, what makes this place truly special are the incredible staff. So friendly, always happy to have a chat and show you around, and to go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need for an unforgettable stay. I cannot recommend this place highly enough, we feel so lucky to have spent our honeymoon here and they really made it special. Book it, you will not be disappointed.

United StatesThe spa left a lot to be desired. Felt more like a dungeon than a spa. Too sterile and underground. I would re-vamp the spa completely from the ground up.
Exceptional villas. Excellent heated pool and privacy. 10/10 would recommend. French toast for breakfast is to die for!

IndonesiaUbud traffic is very bad; of course the hotel can not do anything about this. We had to remind reception for staff to clean room once. Makeup service in the evening sometimes is done other times not. Response from reception was always immediate.
Beautifully appointed rooms. Filtered drinking water from taps. Nice view of forested valley. Superb food. The food and service in the Cascade restaurant was simply outstanding. The staff are all from the local village and extremely courteous. One of the staff at Cascade had worked for many years at a foreign cruise line. Their English was same as a native speaker.

Absolutely amazing property! The room was huge with a private heated pool, and the staff was very attentive and amazing service. The food was good in their restaurant and the main resort pool had a lovely jungle view.

AustraliaRegarding the hotel, there's nothing I didn't like. However, my experience in Ubud was somewhat disappointing. I visited around 20 years ago, and back then it was serene and beautiful. However, now it's incredibly busy with heavy traffic, reminiscent of Kuta. We were advised to visit the Tegallalang Rice Terraces (a 20-minute drive north) before 7 am to avoid the tourist crowds. After that time, it becomes somewhat of a tourist trap, akin to a Rice Field Disneyland. We arrived around 6:30 am and found it stunning.
We went to the Viceroy for our honeymoon in March, 2024 and were upgraded to a Deluxe Pool Villa. It was an unforgettable experience. The hotel's beauty is incomparable; every corner exudes elegance. The culinary experience surpassed our expectations with its top-notch quality. Despite having stayed at several 5-star hotels previously, the Viceroy surpasses them all and this was down to the staff, who treated us like gold the entire time. They were wonderful. Situated roughly a 10-minute drive from Ubud centre, the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service multiple times a day. Surrounded by picturesque local rice paddies on one side and a lush rainforest valley on the other, the location is simply breathtaking. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

United StatesNothing! Everything was PERFECT!
My recent stay at Viceroy was nothing short of magical. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by exceptional staff who went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of my stay was perfect. The attention to detail was remarkable - whether it was a quick buggie ride that arrived faster than some elevators I've encountered elsewhere, or the warm welcome that made me feel like a VIP from the start. The staff truly anticipated my every need, making me feel pampered and valued throughout my stay. One highlight was undoubtedly the breakfast (BEST food ever). I must also rave about the mangosteen, in season during March, which I can confidently say was the best fruit I've ever tasted. It's these little touches that elevate a stay from great to extraordinary. As for the accommodations, my room was nothing short of stunning. The attention to design and comfort was evident in every corner, providing a tranquil retreat after a day of exploration. And let's not forget the pool - private, pristine, and the perfect oasis to unwind and soak up the serene surroundings. The bed was perfect firmess (for me) and the room was cleaned 2 times a day. For fellow Americans concerned about water and food safety, let me put your mind at ease. The water is meticulously filtered, and we indulged in every culinary delight without a single issue. They have a garden and some organic options which I loved. In essence, this hotel is more than just a place to stay - it's a walking dream. From the impeccable service to the exquisite surroundings, every moment felt like a journey into paradise. I cannot recommend this place highly enough and can't wait to return for another unforgettable experience. We will be back. Oh one more thing - the fitness gym was perfect (also loved the Spa). They even had a 'theragun' for self-massage. In all my travels, I have never seen a fitness center offer this.
