Waking up with the tranquil sound of a waterfall and the tweet of some birds… Going down 126 steps through a jungle forest and have an early morning swim in a fresh river basin. Having an amazing delicious breakfast before a relaxing balinese massage. Discover the beautiful rural area of the small local village or nearby vibrant Ubud. Having the most delicious dinners of our travel before a deep 10 hour sleep. Thank you Bene and all the lovely balinese family for your warm welcome at your wonderful place. Bathroom had a smell to it. Shower drain was clogged. WiFi lagged to the point it was almost unusable.

Breakfast and staff are phenomenal. Very friendly and accommodating. Amazing views. Beds are very comfortable and rooms are cleaned daily.

The setting was truly amazing, very private villa looking over the jungle with the gentle sounds of the waterfall far below. Loved all the Balinese art and artifacts throughout the resort as well as the lush natural vegetation . The staff were so kind and helpful! Cannot say enough about the owners Benny and Kim, they were so warm and welcoming with lots of helpful suggestion for site seeing and dining.

Nothing, everything was wonderful

Villa Kalisat’s unique location within a local family village allows a look into the actual culture of Bali. Everything about the villa is exceptionally beautiful and the staff go above & beyond to ensure an exceptional experience. A special thank you goes to Dewi & Candra for their warm welcome. The backdrop of the jungle, river & waterfall on site complete this paradise. This is my second visit here while in Bali and it did not disappoint. The meals on site were delicious & had a good selection.

It was our second time in Kalisat and we enjoyed as much and more. What stands out: - The surroundings. The place is in a jungle and the sound of a river, frogs and the beautiful scenery makes it very special. - Untraditional hotel experience. You actually have to pass through the Balinese family lands and houses to get to the villa as it is situated on their land at the back of their village. Therefore you have an opportunity to see how local people live. Our 7y daughter made friends with local kids and spent most of her time playing with local kids and dogs. - People. Hotel staff and village family are so friendly and kind, you do not feel like staying in a hotel really. More like home. You really feel being taking care of. - Breakfast has a lot of variety and is of abundance. - Hotel has only 7 rooms located on different levels. Rooms and villa itself are beautifully designed, spacious, pool right in front. - Easy access to Ubud by taxi or scooter, approx 15 min. Hard part is not logistics, its finding the inner strength to get out of the pleasant Kalisat environment :) Thank you Bene, Dewa and Kalisat team

This was our favorite hotel out of the entire trip and we stayed at absolutely amazing hotels. The hotel has this Zen feeling about it, the family that owns it is exceptionally welcoming and accommodating. They go extra thousand miles to make you feel at home. They literally said "please think of us as your Bali home, not a hotel" The breakfast is so yummy and the restaurant is with a gorgeous view overlooking a gorge. We got massages (adults and kids) and loved them. This was also our favorite massage on the trip both because of the masseuse and the location of the spa - feeling the wind, hearing the river... When I think of Bali, I think of the serenity and zen of Villa Kalisat

Nothing....it was perfect and exactly what I was wishing for!

A perfect jungle escape overlooking the Petanu River. Monkeys swinging in the trees across the river. Private accommodation with awesome pool. Breakfast was delicious. Staff were super lovely and the local family very friendly & welcoming.

Slightly more variety on the breakfast menu would have been nice, but really there is very little I could suggest as an improvement.

This is one of the most fantastic places I have ever stayed. The views looking over the jungle are absolutely incredible, and the rooms are beautifully decorated. Every single member of staff is incredibly friendly and helpful too. Special mention to the spa, which is outdoors looking right over the tree canopy. Having a massage whilst listening to the sounds of the jungle was a real highlight of my trip.

It really depends on what you are looking for. I think I would have liked it more if it was more easily accessible to the Ubud centre.

The staff were super friendly, welcoming and caring. Being one with nature, and the peace of it all. The sound of nature all around. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The restaurant was really good as well.

There was nothing to not like!

Absolutely stunning location, fabulous hospitality and a real feel for Balinese culture. The walk through the village to the hotel and then such a wonderful greeting took our breath away. It didn't stop there, everyone was just so kind and helpful throughout our stay. It's a very beautiful intimate environment (only 7 rooms) but that makes it perfect to be honest. The room was stunning, the food was wonderful and authentic and the spa was the icing on the cake. If you want a taste of Bali in the tops of a tropical rainforest this is definitely the place to come. There's something quite special about the connection with nature and the community here. Nearly forgot...book a driver (for sightseeing) through the hotel, we had a wonderful guy who was really happy to show and share us all the cultural sights with a real insight into everyday life.

We weee unprepared for the insects/spiders, but we should have expected this in a jungle area!

Staff were incredibly helpful, friendly, snd welcoming. Breakfast was amazing, especially with the stunning backdrop. Was very peaceful and quiet (possibly too quiet for us in the evening!)

The property is so beautiful. We were welcomed in by all the staff who delivered the best service. The hotel grounds are so beautiful and felt so tranquil after travelling around Ubud which is quite busy. The hotel overlooks the jungle (you can even see some monkeys from there!) The room was beautiful and clean and had everything we needed for our stay there. Breakfast was fantastic with a great selection every morning! Would reccomend for everyone to stay here!
