Very friendly welcome, enjoyed the evening meal and had an excellent nights sleep, breakfast was good.

No staff, left waiting fifteen minutes for the dinner menu, never came so i left. The lift was dirty and smelly. The shower didn’t work and the bath although clean had the residue of cleaning product on it.

The staff were really good . I had a problem with a locked case , and the girls on reception went out of their way to to resolve this , and every one else we met went out of there to be friendly and helpful .

Nothing could have been better. The Gateway is a lovely hotel.

The Gateway is a fabulous little hotel in the pleasant little town of Swinford, it is clean and bright, lovely food and excellent staff, would highly recommend this hotel to all! My mum was over visiting myself and my husband, we often call in for a meal and a few glasses of wine, it has become our favourite place!

This is a brilliant hotel. The staff are incredibly friendly, the rooms are good, the shower is about the best I have ever had in a hotel and the food...... incredible. I had the best steak every and portions are very generous. Breakfast was amazing. I needed to stay close to the airport and this hotel is absolutely perfect. I will definitely return whenever in the West of Ireland.

customer service??

i went here for a fishing trip which i do about 10 times a year, staying between castlebar,foxford or swinford. friday night the 18th september it was pouring rain, but i thought i still get some fishing done saturday, before the river rose, but when i arrived to the river at nine it was completely flooded,no fishing to be done, but after nearly 4 hours of driving i was hungry and went to the gateway hotel and had breakfast. great breakfast. after i went to the girl in the reception and told her that there was no way i was going to be fishing and i was thinking about going back to wicklow instead. she informed me that the room was non refundable straight away, and it had to be paid. so room was paid for and i told her that i was not going to be using the room that night. i have stayed in the gateway hotel about 10 times in the last couple of years and its always been ok, food good... i think the ivy tower hotel in castlebar, which is alot cheaper, is better and the lady who runs it understands if the fishing is no good, and has let me cancel before, so has the moy hotel in swinford. for this reason i dont know if ill book this hotel again.

Clean/comfortable/relaxing. The best scrambled eggs , and we look forward to another stay. Very easy to location for knock airport. Loved it.

The property had already charged two rooms to my credit card before I arrived without my permission ! The excuse was that the receptionist went home earlier and had already processed it . Staff on arrival not very helpful - but bar staff were friendly.

Easy to find in the town, nearby pubs and restaurants. Easy free parking, staff brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. Asked to print off a boarding pass for the following day. Brilliant service. Magnificent breakfast. Short of nothing. Will return.

Bathroom door didn't close.....no air in room screen on sash windows.hallway looked old and carpets were patched up.downstairs looked like a different hotel

The room. Toilet door lock didn't work. Room had a tiny, short window with very little light. Single glazing, zero sound proofing and slightly open. Room was very clammy and not ventilated. Had to request a fan. The sound of the traffic and people milling about kept me awake till the early hours. I had been driving all day and went to bed around 10:30pm, absolutely knackered. Went to bed early hoping for a good sleep, and it was one of the worst sleeps I have had, anywhere.

The restaurant and the staff were excellent. Had a nice meal, and a complimentary drink as we were leaving the next morning at 6am, so would not be having breakfast. Absolutely no issues with the staff or the restaurant. Great location near the airport as well.

The property was bright and airy and very clean. The staff were excellent especially Stephen - thanks for your brilliant service and interesting chat. We had lunch dinner and breakfast in the hotel - it was all lovely and cooked to our requests.

The shower curtains, they get wet and sticky. This is personal opinion though on shower curtains in general!

This hotel was great, from friendly accommodating staff to comfy beds! The food was delicious, we were only disappointed we couldn’t eat there the second night due to family commitments after a baptism! Would stay again and recommend to anyone heading that direction.
