Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The location, friendliness of owner, quietness of the location, and the breakfast were all exceptional and better than I had expected. The owner gave us good advice as to what to see and where to go, and even when departing and we told him where to we were heading, he recommended a restaurant to us which we visited and were super please with.

The bed could have been a little bit more comfortable.
Location was excellent, close to town but in a very quiet spot and within walking distance of the university. Lovely variety of food for breakfast. Hosts were very friendly and helpful in suggesting places to eat. Bedroom was lovely and very spacious.Overall excellent stay.

Amazing experience. Lovely owners who really care for their bnb and their guests. The best part: the breakfast. The continental breakfast was exceptionally good and the owners paid a lot of attention to the sustainability of the provided foods- local salmon, cheeses and even home made ham. Great fruit salad and great response to the requirement of glutenfree breakfast. This really made my day !

Very good room and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious also. The hosts were really nice people and looked after their guests very well. Very tasty breakfast also.

Would prefer a continental quilt to the current bed attire.
We loved the deliciously healthy breakfast served at Shelamilier. The ham & scones were both exceptional as was the beautifully presented choice of fruit.

There was nothing to dislike.
Jim our host was wonderful and very welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble and he provided useful information on the area and good places to eat. The property was so clean and rooms very spacious. Generous supplies of toiletries and tea and coffee were provided. The breakfast was the best we had during our tour of Ireland. Abundant amounts of fresh and high quality produce was provided from fresh fruit salad, yoghurt,home baked bread, scones, croissants, ham, cheeses and salmon. On the Sunday morning we had a very tasty full Irish cooked breakfast. Thank you so much Jim for a very pleasant stay.

The only down side - there was no remote in the room, possibly taken by a former client, but we got back after dinner too late to disturb and ask for another.
The host was exceptional. We had to leave early in the morning and he made a special effort to get up early and then sent us off with coffee, croissants and scones. In addition, we left an electric toothbrush behind and he has kindly posted it free of charge. We’d certainly recommend Shemalier.

Everything was perfect. Liked everything.

Me and my sister had a lovely stay at Shelmalier for a family wedding down the road. The room was just what we needed and really affordable. Jim was so helpful and pleasant throughout our stay and helped us get a taxi home from the wedding.
