“It was a good location. Close to Akureyri but far enough to not have any noise. It's also pretty outside with all the mountains surrounding the hotel. The room was clean and well equipped with a fridge/sofa and a place to sit while putting on shoes.”
“Hafnarstraeti Hostel is is pretty good option if you wanna stay in the area around Akureyri for a few days and don't spend too much money. The equipment of the kitchen is marvelous (really big) and there is plenty of space to chill with newly made friends (cozy living room, tables ect). You can call or write the staff every time, if you need help with something. Check in was easy by codes and key cards. The beds are perfect for having private space, although they are not very silent, you may hear other guests alarms or something. Didn't bother me that much though. Bathrooms are modern and very clean.”
“The room was spacious, with comfortable beds and nice furnishing. The shared living areas were very cozy and there was plenty of seating in the dining area. The bathrooms were lovely and the shelves made for good storage of clothes/toiletry bags, and I like that there were piles of hand towels for one time use - with a washing basket in the corner- it felt more eco friendly than single use paper towels. The bathrooms were very clean as well which helped me to feel comfortable using this shared space.”
“This is a larger, quirkily decorated hostel. On the second floor there is a well equipped kitchen and pleasant sitting area which accommodated well the number of people staying. There is a winding metal staircase to access this area.
Our room, on the ground floor was a good size and the bed comfortable (lighting perhaps a little dark). There were single toilets and showers spread within the building, which were clean.
There is parking behind the building and across the road is a supermarket. Well located hostel if you have a car.”
