Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

When we asked if there was parking they told us to park in the street in a designated area for the hotel. They only told us there was free parking garage after the second night.

People were coming and going all night and it was difficzlt to sleep with all the door shutting. Would ve good to think of some lighter kind of system for the doors.
Perfect location, walking distance to the centre and far enough to have nights peace. Personell was really helpful.

- the room felt very stuffy (poor ventilation) - we noticed some dust at the shower near the top light panel that needed a little scrub.
Great location, fantastic staff on front of desk who are available 24/7. We have been staying at Skuggi for three years now and we are keen to return back in the future. This was our first summer stay at Skuggi and they provided us with a fan that was used at night

Seemed expensive for what we got - although maybe that's just Iceland?
This hotel is in a really good location in the centre of the city, and we were able to walk to most of the central locations easily. The hotel itself is comfortable and clean and we were quite happy that we chose to stay there. Reasonable room, adequate breakfast, polite and helpful staff.

Every review about the parking is correct. You won’t be able to find a spot unless you get there early in the day and never move your car. There is a parking garage nearby that is pay by the hour.
Location was absolutely amazing. The room was very nice and the beds were comfortable.

Excellent hotel, great room and shower with really comfy beds in a super location. The staff were great, even finding us some gaffer tape to fix a broken suitcase! The breakfast was excellent and a particular bonus for us was the underground parking. A real pleasure to stay there.

I checked in around 1 pm on a Saturday and left before 6 am the next morning, so my experience was very limited. The hotel is modern, newish building, between the water and Laugavegur, walking distance from City Hall/Parliament, Harpa, etc. I did like the number of UK channels on tv (I love UK tv!). The room was alright, if small; the door opened to a "common balcony", as it were--it was somewhat warm for Reykjavik, so I left it ajar overnight. Overall a nice experience, even if not remarkably so.

The room was a little small and if we hadn’t traveled previously in Europe we would not have known that a room key was needed to run the lights.
We were able to walk to shopping areas from the hotel. This was the only hotel we visited in Iceland that provided a fan which made sleeping more comfortable. Having on-site parking and breakfast were also much appreciated.
