Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

no appliance to dry hands in the lavatory :(
I am very satisfied with the hostel - location is good, only 10 min walk from Theatro Massimo, which seems to be the focal point of the city, and 5 min walk from ticket kiosk for city bus. The kitchen is spacous and equipped with all necessary cooking facilities and you can sit on a beautiful patio terrace. The staff are friendly and knowlegdeable and always available. The hostel organises various activities and gives you info about cultural events in Palermo and about shorter and longer trips outside of the city. I strondly recommend the trip to Zingaro - we spent a wondeful day hiking in the wilderness with our guide Arthuro, discovering the orchids of Sicily, various spice plants and interesting animals in the reserve, we learned a lot about Sicily on that day - from geology to cuisine - and there was a bonus side trip to the thermal bath of Segesta! I also recommend to you the folk dance evening on Thursdays on Bellini square

Had an fantastic stay here! The staff were great, the hostel was a really good vibe with lots of other travellers to meet. Everything was clean and had a light, bright, homely feeling. Nice big kitchen to use and there was instruments to jam on! Highly recommend if your in palermo!

The indoor common area is not very comfy, a few more comfortable chairs or a sofa would be awesome. Also, the hostel is on a busy street and it's very loud, even at night (like, people blasting music from their cars at 3am). That's of course not the hostel's fault (and they even offer free earplugs :)) but I recommend planning ahead and bringing some good earplugs if you're noise sensitive like me.
Highly recommend this hostel, also for longer stays. I loved the atmosphere, everybody was very social and it was easy to get to know people and join activities. The outside sitting area is really inviting. I also loved that it was possible to order breakfast in the hostel.

Noise coming from outside but you will get earplugs. And if it's not bothering you, then it's ok.
Nice space with a common kitchen and area. The staff was friendly. Beds were ok.

The room was great, but the noise from the street was a little loud.
The atmosphere was fantastic and the location was amazing. Great facilities, and felt like a second home very quickly.

Not having bidet 🚽
That was a great experience, One of the emploees, Hanumanu, took us to Corleone as a tour and we went for a short hiking and vising museums of No M@fia... that was an amazing experience, all the personels were so kind and friendly

Just the beds were creaking
The hostel gave recommendations on what to visit in the city, there was an opportunity to play musical instruments. The staff was super nice.

Stuff is nice! The bathrooms and bedrooms were clean. Cute breakfast options. Big kitchen. Nice inner terrace. So many spare rooms where you can use your laptop.

Everything was excellent couldn’t wished more! The only thing that I didn’t like is that I had to leave, but with all my heart wish to return back to A Casa di Amici hostel family 🫶🏻
It felt like home, the personnel were exceptionally friendly. Highly recommend it as a solo female traveller 🌻

Rooms are quite big. 7 people - that's a lot. Noisy street underneath. Its nice they give a stoppers 🤣. Not do close from the 'old center'.
The style, nice and very helpful staff. Clean and equiped kitchen. Ears stoppers. Warm blankets.
