Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. It is literally the cleanest hostel I've ever stayed. The facilities were very good. You can find anything you need during a hostel stay. The ambience is also very nice.

The location is okay, about 15 mins to the theatre. The staff is nice and they close the public area after 11 or 10, it is quiet during the night.

It was bit hard to find at first. I walked straight past it as I didn’t see the sign in the door.
It was very chill and had lots of musical instruments you could play if you know how to. There’s a large common room where you can gather round and meet lots of new people. The staff where very friendly.

it was lovely! the staff was super friendly and helpful, everything was clean at all times, nice common area! they organize group dinners on mondays so it’s also very easy to meet people! literally all you could ask for from a hostel!

The room was not insulated so we could hear everything from the streets and from the building.
The hosts Alessandra and his brother are one of a kind. Their good energy makes you feel happy and ensures a great stay. Rooms are basic but clean and with everything needed.

The location was great, the hostel is really cool, with all the instruments in the main area, great tarrace where you can eat your meals. They also offer some typical foods.

Noisy street but hey it is city centre and they know so they give you noise cancelling ear plugs. My mattress was thick so that's good but a bit unbalanced.
The people, the atmosphere, the location. I had an amazing stay, met some great people, will come back here when in Palermo

Bathrooms can get crowded in the morning ...
This was really a lovely stay! Staff has amazing energy, terrace is comfy, kitchen has everything one need, beds are comfortable and stable (I was sleeping on top), it's always clean ... Location is great: 10-15 min walking distance to the centre, but in a quiet (by Palermo standards) area. Social events (dinner and drum seasions) are a nice way to connect even the most introvert guests.

In all honesty! This place is absolutely amazing! The staff and the people I met were super friendly and inviting! I will highly recommend this place, because it was really "A Casa di Amici" (House of friends) experience.

Can not say anything bad about it.
Loved everything about it. Would come again! Everyone is super friendly and they clean daily. Internet is good enough for remote working and their terrace was a nice spot for it.

It was quite loud in my room as the window overlooked a street.
The hostel is located about a 15-minute walk from the center and very close to the train station, so the location was very good. The staff was friendly. The hostel was clean. There were individual lights and power sockets near each bed. There were also lockers in the room. The bed was comfortable. I liked the artistic vibe in the hostel, the paintings and instruments everywhere. And the robot in the staircase :)

As someone who grew up in an arabic country, the absence of bidets for everyone except private residents kind of made it hard for me to manage the mornings sometimes.
I loved the staff, I loved the people who came to stay there. the entire atmosphere was welcoming, never felt alone. Considering this was my first time staying at a hostel, i felt more safe than ever and I would definitely go back there for another trip in Palermo. They also kept safe the ring I had forgotten in the bedroom and I am extremely grateful.

If you have a car, it is terrible to park it. The traffic is a mess. Few quantity of showers

It was quite cold in bathrooms, because windows were opened constantly.
It's really warm atmosphere in the hostel. The kitchen and bathrooms are clean.
