Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IndiaI can’t think of anything I didn’t like.
The breakfast had a wide menu. The staff was quick and efficient. The room facilities were top class. The room was aesthetically designed - this is important to me. They gave me a street-facing room, as requested.

SingaporeLocation, too far from nearest subway station
Comfortable and spacious. Only negative point is it's location. It's a long walk (25 mins) to nearest subway station. For a senior like je i had to depend on Uber to get around as the walk is too far.

SpainWhen we arrived, the toilet bin hadn't been emptied and there was a condom in it. We were moved to another room, but one night we had dinner at the hotel and they NEVER picked up the pizza boxes. As you'll see, it's VERY difficult to find dustbins in Japan, so we expected them to take the them out, but they NEVER did, they left them in the room until we left.

AustraliaDespite being fairly centrally located in Kyoto, I found out the hard way it's located at the intersection of the two busiest roads in Kyoto, the notorious Gojo wasteland. Unfortuantely, the windows barely blocked any of the noise. Multiple times every night I was awoken by an ambulance, loud car or motorcycle. The blinds also barely blocked out light. The photo attached is my attempt to block out the light at night. These two issues combined basically means it was impossible for me to get any decent rest. The roads here seem to be the main arteries for Kyoto's car traffic, meaning it's a terrible place for pedestrians. Lots of long crossings and overpasses to get anywhere, and few stores or restaurants. It's atleast a 10 minute walk along busy roads to get to a train station, or any area with good nightlife. If it weren't for the car centric area, I would rate the hotel much higher. However since I could barely get any sleep, I can't recommend staying here.
Staff were nice, and helped me with everything I needed, such as providing me an extra pillow on request. The room was nice. I really liked the TV setup, which you could use to even monitor the availability and time left on your laundry. Very cool feature. The shower was great, good for getting ready every morning, but my favourite part of the hotel was the onsen, which I made good use of. I can't speak for the womens onsen, but the mens had a large window looking out to the mountains east of Kyoto. It was a great view, and without many other tall buildings around, it didn't feel too exposed.

United StatesRoom service didnt make the bed, only replaced towels and pajamas. I think the most comforting part about room service is the bed being made, I can deal with a day old towel.
My wife and I really enjoyed the room, the walking shower was very spacious, and the cafe downstairs was quite tasty. Close to a large intersection with bus stops going each direction.

New ZealandWhat I don’t like about the hotel was that it has little space for my luggage to open but wasn’t much of an issue for me since I am alone and my bag is fairly small.
The distance between the bus station was very convenient and the cleanliness of the hotel was superb. Spa was a relaxing and looking quite luxurious.

Chinabreakfast rules for children not kind and not as described when I made the booking. I booked a twin room for 2 adults and 2 children (both aged at 8) from booking.com. I was informed by the web page that breakfasts were included and no extra charge for children. However upon checked in, I was told to pay for children’s breakfast. Hotel staff even printed out confirmation email sent by booking.com with small print about breakfast policy (they seemed had a lot of similar complaint so that they were well trained to show this evidence.) But the email was sent AFTER I made reservation which is totally not reasonable. Anyone who staying with children at this hotel should be aware of this hidden and sneaky charge.

GuatemalaThe room is nice size with a huge bed. We just had a small back pack so it was not a problem. But if you have a big suitcase, you will need to squeeze it a little. The shower is nice and hot and their breakfast is delicious. For sure, I will stay here again for a next future visit.

United StatesWe stayed at Kyoto Gojo Premium for three nights. The rooms were clean and well-organized. What truly impressed us were the thoughtful meal options for vegetarians, both for breakfast and dinner. The hospitality and integrity of the hotel staff were exceptional. A particular incident stands out - I mistakenly paid for my meal using a 10,000 Yen currency note instead of a 1000 Yen note and left. The hotel staff realized that I had overpaid and came looking for me, and they proactively returned the money. I hadn't realized that I had overpaid till that moment. I am so grateful for the honesty and integrity of the hotel staff!

Room was bigger/nicer than expected. The staff was very nice and bed was comfortable. Laundry can take up to 2 hrs but there are 4 machines, the spa is nice - not huge but it wasnt overly crowded, it felt very nice since my feet were super tired from traveling already. Unfortunately my flight got delayed so I only got to stay 1 day instead of 2 and didn't change ahead of time.

PolandBreakfast was the biggest disappointment. Only fish, no meat so if you are allergic to fish like me I do not recommend. You also need to wait in a long queue every morning. Every day the serve the same food. Location is far away from everything. The pillow was hard as rock, impossible to sleep on it.
The bed was big and the room was big for Japanese standards.

United StatesSome street noise due to being on a lower floor. However, this is largely mitigated with the curtains. No USB-C ports for charging devices. Only one (1) USB-A port for normal charging (no fast charging). A bit far from the main tourist attractions in Kyoto, but this is easily overcome due to easy access to public transportation.
The room was roomy compared to other hotels in Japan. Clean, comfortable place to get some rest and a shower with excellent water pressure. Second floor rooms may experience street noise from outside, but the the curtains do a decent job blocking out the noise and keeping the room dark to help you sleep. Staff was helpful with the basics, and check-in / check-out were easy. HVAC kept the room temperature comfortable with minimal noise.
