Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

I think this was the smallest room we had yet. We had only backpacks so we could fit in no problem. But I can't imagine how someone with large suit case would fit in there.
Very nice and cosy hotel. Breakfasts were pretty good.

I would say nothing i don’t like just only the room is pretty small but not a problem at all for me because we spent time outside
The bed is very comfortable and the shower room also. Japanese quality and i really love Big bottle of shampoo,conditioner and shower gel 👍🏼

Poor breakfast. The spa is small and only has a small pool. It was a very noisy street, I had to sleep with earplugs.
Great staff, big bathroom and shower. Good position.

Very very noisy. There is a construction site right next to the hotel and we woke up every morning from the noise.

Room was quiet small Breakfast was good but the hot food was not hot enough and not a lot of option of sweet selection.
Close to the main attractions Staff was lovely and helpful if needed They had the public bath (no need of swimwear) but we couldn’t use it as not enough time We liked the options to see how crowded the breakfast room and the spa were via the tv

Smell or the spa when walking outside of the hall. Breakfast was too basic and timing to short. Uncomfortable pillows. No need for table and chairs inside of a very small room.
The shower was hot and with a lot of pressure. Location was amazing, easy to walk to the center and take the bus. Pijamas super comfy.

Excellent service. I left my earrings and pendant at room and only noticed after check out. The hotel staffs managed to find it and return to me, really appreciate their help and service given.

All the noise from the street and the road can be heard in the room, there is no soundproofing, the room was supposed to be cleaned once every 3 days and it was not cleaned until after my complaint, the public bath did not work on Sunday. At breakfast when we arrived at 9 o'clock not all the items were left in the buffet and in fact what we wanted ran out and there was nothing for us to eat

It's really a pretty small room, we struggled packing our stuff and really had to be smart about how we used the space. We stayed for 5 nights which was too long for a room like that but if you stay for 1 or 2 nights it's okay. Breakfast was included, it was okay.
It was a good location and the vibe was aesthetic. The shower was good and the staff was super polite. It was clean as well.

we stayed triple (3 single beds) room. room is clean, but very, very small. we had a middle size suitcase and 2 cabin suitcases, which was not so much space needed, but no space to open suitcases and nowhere to put out clothes. so each time when we take out clothes or anything is struggling. we had to jump over our stuff and block the toilet door. room size is only negative thing.
The location is good. bus stop to go to Kyoto station is infront of hotel, and you can walk Hankyu- kawaramachi in 15 minutes. hotel inside is clean everywhere. The big bath is really nice for the end of the day. we love free drink time, including alcohol from 5 pm to 8 pm. we back from sightseeing every night 6 ish, and had a lovely free local beer and Japanese sake before heading dinner. that was super nice service!

The rooms should be deepcleaned as there was a lot of dust below the bed, on the fridge etc.
I loved the spa, the interior design of the rooms and the kindness of the staff.
