Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomIn the TV they have an option to know how many washing machines were being used, this was not really updated.
They have a Spa/bath area, which was more than welcome after each day of walking!

United KingdomIt was good to have the laundry facilities but the washer / dryer took too long to dry clothes. It is better to use the coin operated laundry, 5-10 minutes walk away.,
The reception was friendly and the rooms were nice. I especially enjoyed the powerful walk-in shower. The breakfast was OK but you could also grab a quick breakfast at the 7eleven just down the road.

LuxembourgIt very often smelled like cigarettes in the lobby because the smoking area was right next to the elevators. Cleaning the room only meant changing bed sheets and bringing new towels, they didn't vacuum or anything.
The location was great. The staff was kind.

AustraliaThe room is ridiculously small, there is literally no room is move it is unlivable. The pillows are awful. The mattress is terrible. The queen bed is literally two singles pushed together. They don't give you a large blanket to fit the queen they provide two single blankets. You have no space to open your luggage at all. The air-conditioning leaked water in both rooms.
I really enjoyed the Location. It was 10 minutes away from everything! It had a great bathroom.

United StatesRoom smelled. Staff was not very helpful. I understand that there was a language barrier and despite using google translate this did not help. First time, I asked for assistance for getting a cab and was told they were busy and to get one myself from the road. Second time, I asked for help with reservations and was told to call myself. Maybe I was asking for too much. Next time, I would definitely avoid this hotel and consider a real hotel with a real concierge who can assist. Maybe I was asking for too much.
Bed was comfortable, rain shower was great.

New ZealandRooms are really right with no space to really open luggages so be prepared :)
Location is nice, a short walk to the river, bus stop in front of hotel, train station about 5 minutes walk. Drugstore and 7-eleven within a minute from the hotel so super convenient.

AustraliaOur room was not clean! Lump of hair in the shower, a sock under the bed, dusk and hair on the bedhead, surfaces not properly wiped etc! The staff didn't handle the issue well... asked us to vacate the room so they could clean it. Offered another room (worse room) if we didn't want to do that. Spend a little more for nicer accomodation. Plenty of boutique accommodation around.
Fairly quiet location and not too far from the restaurants and shops in the centre of downtown. Bus stop right out the front and a short walk to the train station across the river.

CanadaThe pillows are not comfortable, and the bed is not well-suited for this small room. The bed takes up most of the available space, making the room feel cramped. Additionally, the fan in the bathroom runs non-stop and is quite noisy, as is the small refrigerator. I had to unplug the fridge to stop the noise. Furthermore, the breakfast is subpar and probably not worth the extra cost.
The hotel is quite well located. Close to the bus station and not too far from the subway. At around 1.5 from the Main Street and Gion.

GermanyThe stuff was super friendly and helpful. The location was great, you could walk to the "Inner City" pretty quickly. Using Gojo Station you get to Kyoto main Station with just one stop. :) Once we visit Kyoto again we will for sure look forward going to this Hotel again. Also, the Onsen was a big bonus!

United StatesThe lounge had limited hours in the day/evening, so we weren't able to use the space to get some work done on our computers at a proper table. That would be an excellent amenity if the hotel made it available as a working space during certain hours.
The location in more on the east side of the city center which made the walk to Nishiki Market, Kiyomizudera and other nearby attractions quite manageable. This goes without saying for Kyoto, but bring your walking shoes! There's so much to see just east of the river from this hotel. The staff were very friendly and upon request, were able to call us a cab back to Kyoto Station during check-out. There is a 7-11 very close by which made late night snacking incredibly easy! The included breakfast was tasty with both western and Japanese options. We shipped our luggage to this hotel which made things very easy.

NetherlandsThe room had the same size as the bed. There was no space to stand or put your suitcase. Everything you have to do on the bed.
On weekdays there was a happy hour at the end of afternoon , in the breakfast room with free drinks. The hotel is wel kept and clean. The hotel has recommended several excellent restaurants located within 500 meters of the property.
