Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesCheck out time is a bit too early for my liking. 11 maybe but 10 is just way too early. I went there to have some fun I’m going to wake up late.
The free VODs. I’ve been to many 3-star business class hotels in the summer time but this place also had the best AC.

EcuadorMore variety in food during breakfast and better movie selections (there were 4 very bad movies) but you can always mirror screen from your ipad/phone. However, netflix didn't work Other than that, everything was good.
The breakfast was good and the location was excellent. Less than 10 minutes from all the fun zone in Shinjuku and very close to train station. Excellent value for money

ItalyThe hotel has two buildings attached and only three washing machines and dryers. Even though there’s a laundromat just outside, we were not able to do our laundry. It was pouring heavily in Tokyo when we arrived and had to walk ~10min to reach the hotel, so we were soaked. Had to dry our things with the hairdryer (worked quite well, but still).
Great location and even though the room was very small (11m2) it was comfortable, had everything we needed and we could even open both our medium suitcases on the floor without having to jump over them to get around. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. After having checked out we could leave our suitcases there for the day for free, before taking the evening flight.

Sri LankaA bit compact rooms but that’s the norm and also a very very very confusing to find, there’s like three other properties with similar names.
It was great! Located in the middle of Shinjuku close to a lot of things and stations and just overall super convenient!! We managed to cover everything plus the hotel has everything you need and they change towels and all each day or whenever you ask. Super awesome staff too!

FinlandWe had 5 people, so registering on the self-service machine took time and staff was nervous over the queue it was forming. Self-check-in is ok for one, maybe 2 people registration, but for 5 too time consuming, so check-in could have been handled by hotel staff.
Friendly staff, good food selection and onsen(or is public bath more correct term). For Japan the room was reasonable size. Good location.

United KingdomIt's a bit impersonal, feels a bit like a capsule hotel where it's mainly self-service.
Good location right near everything in Shinjuku. Bed was comfortable. Despite the tiny bedroom, there were lots of efficiencies built in to try and make the space better used. For example there were hooks, drawers, ledges and space under the bed for the suitcases. There's also an on site onsen but we didn't check it out.

AustraliaThe breakfast isn't really worth it in terms of quality, but with a hungry teenager at least one of us got our money's worth. The coffee is truly dire - wait and get it elsewhere. The bathroom is teeny tiny as expected for Tokyo, but it was very clean and functional. While the location is near lots of restaurants in Shinjuku, it's 12-15 mins solid walk from any of the major train stations, which adds a chunk of time to days when you're already doing a lot of walking, especially if you need a break from the heat in the late afternoon. Also the lobby and check-in process are a bit hectic and the staff feel rushed.
The room was neat and efficiently organised, fine for two people as long as you can put luggage under the bed. The spa and robes were great. It's a big hotel, but a good base for exploring Shinjuku.

GermanyIt took us a bit to find the right APA hotel, given there are about 20 in the vicinity of each other! But once we mastered the maps and found it, all went smoothly. The room really is small - and perhaps missing a wardrobe, the only "storage area" being under the bed - but it makes up for it with environment-consciousness and value for money.
The hotel is located in Shinjuku, which is a really fun area to be in. The rooms, although small, have all the amenities we needed. We loved the yukata provided and the option for an in-house bath experience. The automated check-in and check-out process were efficient.

AustraliaWas poring down rain while we were there and we were in the top floor, there was no roof which means that the carpets on our level were soaked. Laundry was in a different building and the dryers were filled with lint. Very small room.
Good location, filled with international travellers. Just far enough out of the centre of Shinjuku that you don't get the noise but is spitting distance
