Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesLocation wasn't so great, right in Kabukicho (we only found out after) which has it share of shady people. Small rooms. Check-in process is a pain, you have to stand in line. Luckily we got there early and only had to wait about 20 minutes.
Overall good hotel. Located close to the subway. Cozy and clean rooms.

BelarusVery very very small room. Good for one, not for 2. No place to put anything, even if you place luggage under the bed, it is not comfortable to take it out every time. Feels like a box. Pretty expensive too. Book in advance if you want it cheaper. Breakfast is crowded so you have to queue for it, but it is normal for Japan. No windows in the corridors so it is windy and cold once you step out of the room. 2 towers in the hotel. If you go to onsen you will have to walk in the street in a bath robe.
Good service, amazing location, close to everything in Shinjuku area, onsen was nice. The hotel has all the amenities possible and even more. Bed was comfy too.

SerbiaThe only downside is that the room was too small, but we kinda knew that already.
The location is amazing. The facilities are great. The spa is super clean and nice, wish I had used it every night instead of just once. The checkin and checkout were easy, the hotel is exceptionally clean

United StatesWe did not feel like this hotel was a good value for the money. It was costly, and the room, while functional, was tiny. This hotel is only suitable for single travelers, couples, or friends who are very close.
The location was great! We loved being within walking distance of the train and many restaurants, nightlife venues, and parks. We also appreciated how clean the hotel was, and even though the rooms were small, they were very functional.

United KingdomThe pillows provided were the worst part of the stay by far. They're extremely firm making for some terrible sleep and painful mornings waking up with stiff neck. This was common across rooms as we had friends that stayed in the hotel too.
Nice hotel at the back of Shinjuku. Location was great to get into town and to other parts of Tokyo.

AustraliaThe rooms are very small, if open a suitcase that is the whole space used up but I still thought it was great value for money and you’re in the heart of Tokyo so it makes sense that it’s small.
Great location, only 10 mins walk with suitcases from the station. And 2 mins away from all the lit streets with restaurants and bars. It was amazing that there was so much going on around the hotel but you heard nothing in your room.

United StatesSince it's right in Shinjuku near Golden Gai that also means it's very close to the red light district which is overun with scam artists and cons so unaware travels need to be careful. That also means the surrounding area is less clean than some may expect for Japan.
The hotel was nice and modern, well connected to stations, and fairly easy to find. The rooms were quiet and decently laid out (what you would expect in Tokyo). The building also feels very secure with key card access being required at all steps of entry.
