Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaWould not store one of my luggage for 3 days as I was going back to hotel to stay for a night on my way to Niseko & I didn’t want to drag my ski bag with me to Osaka. I offered to pay but they said no. They pointed me in the direction of a bag storage place but honestly they couldn’t have stored it. Japanese culture is weird like this, they stick to their rules no matter what. Even check in when your room is already cleaned & ready, they will not let you check in before 3pm then there is a massive line & wait which I believe is a stupid policy
Love the public baths & location

NetherlandsTwo of the nights the room was so hot - you can no ability to change the heating settings and the windows are screwed shut which is a bit crazy. They're very strict on not allowing checkin before 3pm so don't bother coming to try your luck.
Great location. Good bed size for two people, bed was quite comfortable. The onsen was really lovely (unfortunately the water was set to too hot for me in north baths so couldn't stay long). Clean. Well designed bathroom (though pretty small for my 6 foot partner). Not much space but about expected for a tokyo room.

SpainOverall, it is a typical hotel in the middle of the busiest city area with its consequences like lots of people everywhere, overloaded personnel and stuffed elevators.
Located in the heart of Shinjuku, stay there if the area is relevant for you. Around 10 min walk from the Shinjuku metro station. Several restaurants and a donki within 5 min.

United StatesGood location right between vibrant Shinjuku (if you are into nightlife and convenient transportation) and Shin-Okubo (for lots of restaurant options). Breakfast is OK -- not much variety from day to day and can get crowded but it satisfied me. No timed breakfast ticket system, which is a plus and reduces the amount I have to plan. Their entertainment system in the rooms has some convenient features like the ability to extend your check-out or stay, information on how crowded the onsen is, and general tips on tourism in Tokyo, so that was a nice plus.

ChileThe water pressure was not great. Also, since it’s in a busy location, the lobby is often crowded. I also had some issues with the TV during my stay.
The staff was very kind and always willing to help, which made my stay more comfortable.

United Arab EmiratesI didn't give it 10 stars just because there was no sunlight at all, at any time of the day, in my room. Of course, I understand that the opposite building could not be moved but the problem still remains. I didn't spend too much time in my room and that's why it didn't really affect my experience but otherwise it would be a problem . Also, I had an emergency and I needed to print some documents ( 1 page) but I was informed that printing out stuff was against the safety policy of the hotel which sounds kinda weird to me. Tourists and businessmen may need such a service and it should be implemented.
Great value for money. The staff, the location and the amenities are great.

Great location to shops and eating options. Short walk to Shinjuku station. Rooms were clean and tidy and could store bags under the bed.

AustraliaThe area in Kabukicho is a little scary at night for a young female solo traveller.
Front door staff were really helpful and kind. The room was perfect for 1 person and very cosy. All the facilities were clean and new. Although I couldn't use the onsen due to my tattoos, I enjoyed the private bath in my bathroom.

CanadaVery clean and bed comfortable. Room size reasonable based on experience in Japan... Others commented on heat... Maybe they fixed it? We didn't find it too hot... Location pretty good for Shinjuku. You do walk through club/girls area but it didn't seem dangerous or anything... Close to metros and many good options. Didn't try the onsen. Overall no complaints, I think price fair for Tokyo given what you get.

SwitzerlandLocation is great for first time visitors, 3-5 min walk from some underground stations and a 15 min walk from Shinjuku station. We were super well connected thanks to that. The room was quite small, we did not have that much free space but we were ready for that. Definitely enough space for just a few days, we were out the whole day anyways. The room and the hotel itself was sparking clean. Staff was extremely friendly. I can recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to be well connected and stay next to hundreds of bars and restaurants. I also enjoyed the Onsen, it was not too crowded and I was provided with tattoo covers at the reception.

APA specialise in very small but very well fitted out rooms. These are ideal for people who intend to spend most of their time exploring the city but want a clean and nice room with all the facilities one would expect. The staff were very friendly and will keep your luggage for you. The shower was great, the bed comfy and there is a USB Charger for your phone (so you dont need a separate adapter. For a single person I find these rooms absolutely excellent although they may not suit someone who has a lot of luggage. This APA is equidistant between Shinjuku and Shin-Okubo stations. It is in the heart of Kabukicho which is a party area but my hotel was super quiet at night. Note there are quite a few APA hotels in this area so make sure you are going to the right one.

United StatesIt’s near a Hospital so I would sometimes hear ambulances sirens go by. That’s not the properties fault and it wasn’t a big deal to me!
Staff was very friendly, they were always hard at work with smiles on their faces. Extremely clean and quiet hotel. In a great location near what I believe people called (Korean Town), lots of shops and food stalls. Great WiFi, Plasma tv in every room, never heard any noises from neighbors.
