Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ZimbabweThe extremely small room size, even though I understand it's common in Tokyo. Limited housekeeping - they didn't change our bedding or clean the room daily, only leaving clean towels in a bag on our door. Inflexible check-in policy - despite our room being ready earlier, they charged 1000 yen per hour for early check-in before the official 3 PM time.
The hotel was decent overall - renovated, modern, and clean. However, the rooms were extremely small, though I understand this is common in Tokyo. Daily housekeeping was limited; they didn't change our bedding or clean the room daily, but left clean towels in a bag on our door. When we arrived in the morning to check in, despite the room being available, they wouldn't allow early check-in unless we paid 1000 yen per hour before the official 3 PM check-in time.

Germany1.) The staff is not able to speak or comprehend basic English, what a disgrace. They are not able to answer basic questions. 5-6 staff members at the desk and none of them able to speak English on elementary school level, quite shameful. 2.) Rude staff, one of them giggling about me, but herself very uneducated. 3.) Breakfast is a total joke. It's not even in the house, but they send you to a bad fast food chain called "Doutor" approx. 10 minutes walking distance. They give you coupons and offer you only a very limited choice, not even the full menu. I was there twice, then I had enough, because the breakfast is so bad. Don't book breakfast, it's a waste of money!
Great location in Akihabara. Room was clean (though small).

AustraliaThere was no washing machine forcing you to go to a laundromat, the closest of which were inconveniently far away. Pretty major disappointment really.
Location and cleanliness was fantastic. new towels and other bathroom stuff was provided daily.

United StatesIt was very very small and the check-out time was quite early. If you are looking for a place to hang out in, this is not the hotel for you. It offers a clean bed and shower, so if you plan to spend the day sight seeing and stay out of the hotel all day, then it will work.
It was clean and conveniently located. It is a short walk from the Akihabara station which has many train lines.

Australiano onsen bath facility, some staff are not so kind ( we saw one experienced staff she was so nice, good and helpful) but some other staffs were so slow to respond or just told us to look up on our own device for the location of laundry. no cups at ice machine, and that is located at the ground level together with microwave. internet wasn’t connecting in the room for more than half of our stay. no coin laundry in the hotel. little shop on ground floor only accept IC card ( no credit card, no cash) I stayed at Nagoya ekimae, Tawaramach and loved them but not this one at Akihabara Ekihigashi.

SpainThey have the bags in the bathroom for the laundry service saying to leave it at the front desk, then you go to the front desk and they tell you they don't have the laundry service and you have to go to an external laundry and do it by yourself, why the hell have you those bags if are useless?

SingaporeBooked 3 standard double rooms, our family n travelling friends all felt that the room, toilet n bedding were not comfortable and a tad too squeezy. Can’t really open luggage fully in the room and hotel only provided 2 really flat pillows for each of the rooms. Tiny bathroom had a sitting bathtub that couldn’t even sit comfortably cross legged. Toilet bowl was right facing door with hardly any space when closed. Although we expected small rooms in Tokyo but it really fell short of our expectation for the price. There was no daily provision of mineral water except for 1st day. Specifically requested non corner rooms but was allocated 2 corner rooms out of 3. Travelling friends had foreign strangers knocking at our doors and talking non stop on one of their first nights which really freaked them out! Goes to show lack of security. 2 rooms with close proximity to the next building which overlooked offices/lab workers working. Utterly disappointed!
Other than location which was within 1km of Akihabara station, really nothing much.

CanadaI am absolutely FURIOUS with the property. I asked for an extension and agreed on the already ridiculous 1,000/h. for 3 hours. I got a message from the property that they went into my room and checked me out packing my things . I have never felt so violated EVER. I, nor anyone in my company ever stay at APA again.
it’s location to the rail was its only good feature

JapanAir Conditioner not working at all made the room unconfortably hot, and when i asked in the lobby to turn it on they gave me a fan. Pillows are too hard and the covers are way to thicc. It was very difficult to sleep due to the high temperature in the room.
Really pretty and clean room with all that you might need in it.
