Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

BrazilBreakfast is in a small area and often there was queue to get in, if you have a tour earlier in the day, high chances you won’t be able to get in to eat, it starts at 7am. It is a fair walk from the station, no direct train to major stations, so you need to change station. Also, it is sort of walking toward uphill, which is difficult if you have luggage, you will need a taxi. The suburb is sort of a party hub, very few options for food and also the area is quite expensive comparing to other suburbs.
The hotel is clean and modern. Fair options of breakfast, mix of Japanese style and continental, they had bread, butter, jam, corn flakes, fruits and yogurt. Beautiful view on rooftop.

United KingdomRoom is a little too small if you have a lot of luggage.
This is the third time we have stayed at Apa Ekihigashi. It has everything you need for a few night's stay in the central Tokyo location of Roppongi. The room is very clean, neat and well thought out. The bed was comfortable and the hotel facilities are very good at this price (Spar/hot bath, coin op washer/dryer, microwave, vending machines and left luggage service). The only reason I have not given it a full 10/10 is owing to the size of the room which is a little too compact depending on how much luggage you have. It is perfectly fine for two people with a couple of pieces, which can be neatly stored under the bed, however, as we had two cases and a large rucksack each we ended up playing Tetris with our luggage every time we needed to open them up. Otherwise, it was a very pleasant stay.

United StatesThe area itself was very expensive. While there are food options, a lot of the restaurants are catered towards high-end spending. It was nice to have convenience stores and nightclubs / bars. The nearest stations are a bit of a walk away. Their weren't many things wrong with the hotel, our biggest complaint was that there were only 4 washing machines / dryers for a huge hotel. It was nearly impossible to get one, so if you wanted to wash, you would have to wait there until the previous person was done. It would take 2 to 3 hours, depending on how much clothes you washed. We had to go to a nearby coin laundry to wash our clothes. The second thing that was a bit weird was that even though we requested our room to be cleaned, they would still come clean it again on every 3rd night of your stay. There were a couple of times where we had forgotten that they were going to come in since it was cleaned the morning of or the day prior and they had left a notice on the TV saying they couldn't clean since we had stuff on the bed. I'm not sure if it was for sanitation reasons or to make cleaning rooms easier on workers, but they will not replace sheets for your stay, i believe, unless requested. We noticed that our pillow cases still had a stain from when my fiance accidentally scratched her face too hard. Another frustration that we had that was not the APA hotels fault was our luggage transportation. We couldn't use the hotel recommended one since it was only within the Toyko prefecture, so we had to use the JP Post to send our luggage to Osaka. The price was really cheap it was 70 dollars for 5 luggages, but using the JP Post was super frustrating. We had scheduled the drop-off to our next stay for Thursday at 7 p.m., but we did not get our luggage at all. I had to go to the post office the following Monday, where it was held for inspection, and talk to them at 8 am because we were leaving back to Toyko the same day.
The hotel itself was great. We stayed here for the first 9 or 10 nights of our trip to Japan. The staff was very accommodating and helped us check in at 8pm. A lot of their staff spoke English as well, which was great. Everything was well organized and explained, which was fantastic. It was very easy to get more information from the front desk, and they will go above and beyond to help you with whatever you need. The hotel itself has a lot of amenities that while we didn't use since we were busy a majority of the time it was nice to have.

JapanI don't like the paper cups. I forgot that the refrigerator is not turned on when you check in, so my food was not safe.
This APA hotel is the closest to my workplace in Tokyo. It was convenient. Compared to other rooms I've used in the same hotel which were quite garish, the size of mirrors and decor were more reasonable, so I was able to relax a bit more.

ItalySmall room. They put me on the 2nd floor, the window was facing the place outside where they take out the trash. Every night at 1am and 6 am I would wake up because of the noise of the trucks taking out the trash.

IrelandRoad traffic noise, after a few nights was uncomfortable, be ok for a night or two but not a week of it, also one night went into bar, and bar man tried to escort me out side door onto street, didn't appreciate his manner. Also to do early check in or late check out. With most hotels they facilitate this without additional cost.
Reception staff very helpful, and very friendly.

Location is good, close to a lot of subway stations, a little bit noisy though. Clean and a lot of staff to help you at the reception.

CanadaThe tattoo discrimination of public pool and hot tub use. We would have loved to use it, but couldn’t. We understand it’s a cultural thing, but it’s still a little sad!

TurkeyOur friend needed to go the the hospital and we asked to the hotel staff for nearby hospitals. He didn't seem to have any information and we spent 1.5 hours at the front door of the hospital he suggested us. Then we headed to an International Hospital which was the same distance from the hotel. They should be well informed on this matter since customers can have more urgent health situations and where every minute counts.

CanadaIt’s an APA hotel, so expect convenience and decent prices for Tokyo, but the rooms and beds are quite small. Since we were out most of the time we didn’t mind. They leave fresh towels at your door every day, but do not make beds or collect trash. Beware if this matters to you. My husband really liked their sento - it was spacious and modern. If you have tattoos you may not be able to get in. It’s a bit of a walk to the station but even with luggage it was quite convenient. We like Roppongi for the more laid-back vibe of the area compared to Shinjuku, and it’s still quite easy to get to areas like Shibuya, Ginza, with not too many subway transfers.

United StatesLoved how close it was to the main street of Roppongi where everything was happening, but at the same time a bit removed (2min walk away). The staff was awesome. But It was the smallest room I have stayed in any of the other APA hotels.
