Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustriaNot something that bothered me, but I feel like the amount of amenities received was a little over the top. Would be great to have an option to opt-out of this, as it felt like a little waste. The room could have been cleaned a little better (it was a little dusty on the furniture, but otherwise okay).
The hotel was conveniently located in a walking distance from Ueno and Inaricho stations, so you could easily transfer to other parts of the city. The staff was friendly and we were able to rent both an iron and umbrellas when needed. It has a lot of amenities and add-ons that make your stay more pleasant. The room is what you would expect, quite small, but functional, with a lot of space for suitcases and other luggage under the bed. Every day you receive a bag with amenities (toothbrush, toothpaste, razors, cotton buds, yukata, etc...) and towels in front of your door which you can use if you feel like you need new ones, so it's very convenient for those who pack lightly.

IrelandThey don’t have a restaurant so don’t offer breakfast. They direct you to a place 4 minutes walk away. Rooms are small so not much space for clothes, etc. I was a solo traveller so I was fine for me. It was hard to locate as it’s down a side street but Google maps got me there.
Very fresh modern facility. Easy to check in and out. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean and comfortable room. Great shower and amenities. Great value room to be so close to Ueno station and not far from Tokyo museum. Ueno station is a whole world in itself, lots of food and shops.

BelgiumThe room may feel a bit small but it's as expected from Japanese hotels.
The hotel is clean and situated in a quiet area, not far from Ueno station. A supermarket and convenience store can be found nearby. The hotel has no restaurant attached but some can be found nearby as well. Clean towels and other amenities are provided every day.

PolandThere is no AC in the hallways. If you are visiting during the summer, the hallways will be stuffy. Additionally, if you have no sense of direction, can not read a map, or have no common sense; this location might be hard for you to find the entrance.
The rooms were clean, and the staff was helpful. I enjoyed my stay. Checkout was insanely easy and quick. I would definitely stay here again.

PhilippinesIt was a good 10min walk from Ueno station but closer to Inaricho metro station. As expected, the room was small but it has everything we needed except for the microwave which was available at the lobby instead. The staff were all accommodating, helpful, and friendly. The area was quiet but close to a mart and several convenience stores.

United StatesI wish there was a laundry area. It would improve others' stay so much better. I had to go to the con laundry instead.
I liked how compact it was. Since I was a solo traveler, it was the perfect size. I also liked that there was good enough room for the luggages.

IndonesiaToo bad it seems like APA Hotel no longer offers laundromat. The laundry service was fine, but it might take too much time for travelers.
My experience staying in this hotel was excellent! I've been to Tokyo many times and to be frank I was ready to get a room on the smallish side. However, it turned out our twin room was spacious (including the bathroom!), on the 14th floor, and facing the Skytree! The room was very comfortable and the amenities were great. I really enjoyed my time sitting on the sofa by the window, looking at the Skytree in the mornings and during the evenings. The hotel was situated near Ueno Station, which was strategic in our POV (in terms of getting the shinkansen heading north and all).

New ZealandA little confusing to find initially as it is hidden in the middle of a block of buildings but it does tower high enough to find eventually
Decent location, 10mins walk to the main station and practically in the heart of Ueno (if not adjacent). Good view from the 7th floor facing east to see the Sky Tree.

United StatesIt was not easy for me to push my baggage all the way to this hotel, which is no where close to the Ueno Station, and very disappointed in the way I was treated in reference to that luggage. I am in the process of traveling for long periods, so I did not want to push my very heavy luggage (taxitoo expensive) to and from as I had to do business in another city . I was coming back after one day. They refused to hold my baggage for me.
I liked the room and it was quiet.. Small and quiet ..
