Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThis seemed to be common across APA hotels, but every time you enter the room the TV turns on with a programmed videos that can get kind of annoying. The room temperature is controlled centrally so if you're someone who feels hot/cold you may have issues. They did have fans to freely rent at the front desk.
This was a good hotel, and the first one we stayed at upon arriving to Tokyo. We were able to get there via the Ginza line, however most of our day to day travel happened at the Ueno station which was about a 10-15 min walk away. Asakusa was also nearby, probably about a 20 minute walk to get to all the shops/restaurants and Senso-ji. There's a 7 Eleven across the street, however we actually went to the grocery store which was even closer, more frequently. Laundromat is a couple of block away. The location itself, being between the main Asakusa and Ueno areas was a fairly quiet one, however this is what we were looking for to decompress at the end of the day. We did walk back and forth between Asakusa and Ueno at all hours of the day and always felt safe. The room itself was fairly small, but it seemed to be standard across APA hotels as we stayed at other locations as well. We didn't have too many issues as it was just my spouse and I.

United StatesInaricho is an okay train station but only one line. This is no problem but be advised you may wish to stay by the nearby Ueno station for more transit options. However, for the price this is a great value.
Great wifi, very clean, near a train station, friendly staff.

SpainThey didn't have coin-operated laundry machines (I thought all APA hotels had them), and the mobile content casting system to the TV only worked with YouTube.
Reasonably priced hotel (compared to other options) between Ueno and Asakusa with very comfortable beds

United KingdomThe AC is very dusty. If you are the same same as me have allergy issues to dust then better not come. I had to take pill to stop the allergy reaction. Other than that, I think maximum one night stay would be enough.

AustraliaIt's OK if nothing better is available. The rooms are microscopic, you can get a little bigger even in Tokyo. You run the risk of being put in one of the rooms with no view which would be a bit dire. The windows are covered by a privacy film that obscures a lot of the viewing angle. Be warned that the mattress is too soft so you should try and sleep on your back or side - sleeping on your front may well cause back pain. It lacks facilities like free coffee machine in the lobby, washing machines, microwaves and a room safe. I'd also prefer none of the many silly magazines etc taking up valuable space in the room.
Requested and luckily got a room on a high floor with a Skytree and sunrise view, that made it good value. The room lighting, decor, bed linen and lobby are contemporary and fresh. The under bed luggage space was fine for our two medium sized back packs. The location is strategic, with Asakusa, Ueno, shops and transport walkable. The neighbourhood is an urban oasis to come back to compared to other crazy busy areas of Tokyo. Had very little interaction with staff but they were always there if we had needed them.

Portugal- The rooms are a bit small - we could only open one suitcase at a time. But this is Tokyo, so it's understandable.
- Convenient Location: Ueno station is 10-15 mins away, and Inaricho station is 5 mins away. Asakusa is technically walkable (~20mins) - Maruetsu supermarket and 7-Eleven are just around the corner. - We left our luggage at the hotel after checking out, but our phone had failed to save the QR code (basically the receipt) needed to retrieve our luggage. The staff at the reception were very patient and professional, they quickly sorted it out for us so we were able to retrieve our luggage afterwards. - Good value for money - Blackout curtains!

MalaysiaWould be good if the bathroom counter had more space
Room was very clean and a good size for one person - if two people it would be a squeeze with luggage, even though the bed does have space underneath to store it. The toilet is a typical Japanese hotel toilet size, very compact, but it dries quickly and doesn't get too humid. The bath is nice for a soak, and you can view the TV from the bath if you leave the door open. The hotel is near a 24-hour supermarket and convenience stores, and around 10 minutes walk from Ueno station. Wifi connection was strong. The lobby also has a vending machine.

United KingdomThe room was quite small but we managed to have enough space for two large and two small suitcases in the storage space under the bed. However, the size was not ideal for an 8-night stay and two people; it was really tricky to pack in such a limited space. The toilet and shower were small as well, and the sink was a bit tricky to use at the beginning. There is only one lift and we were on the last floor (14), so it could take a long time to get in our room or out of the hotel at busy times.
Toiletries, hot drink powders, clean towels, and clean pajamas were provided every day. The train/tube/metro station is a 5-minute walk from the hotel. There are two convenience stores next to the hotel, which are open 24 hours. The room has a mini fridge, which was very convenient for our long stay. It was quiet. The staff was really nice and helpful. The bed was comfortable and big enough. The TV offered plenty of information which was useful during our stay.

New ZealandNo coin laundry, and it will be nice if they have one. Very close to a subway station 4min walk. However, it will take almost 40min to get to Shibuya but we don't mind the train ride.
Very spacious room for a twin room and we stayed in many hotels in Japan and I can say this was the most spacious room especially the bathroom. Beds were comfortable and very close to supermarket and convenience store. Value for money and pretty reasonable for Tokyo price.
