Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

South AfricaRoom is really small but actually perfect for a solo traveller. 5 min walk to station, no problem late at night alone. Couple of restaurant options close by. Also one station from Ueno so able to use many subway lines or stay on Ginza to Shibuya

Czech RepublicRoom was very small even for business hotel, bed was also small, AC was cold so it was a little bit cold at night, for this price I would expect slightly better and bigger room
Location was convenient, room was clean, check in and check out were easy and quick

TaiwanLack of laundry which is bad for a long stay. Room size for one person is enough, but for two is way too small.
Room is clean and comfortable. WiFi is fast enough for daily use. Supermarket is pretty near, easy to buy some snacks.

EstoniaUnfortunately the window is covered with a non-see through foil. Because it is also an emergency exit, it cannot be opened. This means that there was no way to look out of the window. I do not know if this applies to all rooms.
Value for money is very good. While not *right* next to Ueno Station, very much in close walking distance. This way you can get a better price for still very good positioning. Ichinaro station (for metro) is right there. The staff was very helpful and nice, everything is very clean.

United StatesThe room was on the smaller side but that is expected for Toyko/Asian destinations
The room was clean and comfortable. The location felt very local and away from the busier areas of Tokyo. Close walk to UENO station, local shrines, and stores. Staff was friendly and helpful. We had a high up floor which gave us a beautiful skyline view of Tokyo and part of the sky tree.

CanadaEnd to end really great staff and the rooms are comfortable. The check in process was a big screen and it couldn’t find my booking at first. The lobby is a bit small and a bit crowded and chaotic. I was on the fourth floor and wanted to walk down stairs but it’s for emergencies only and it took ten minutes for me to get on an elevator that had room for me

United StatesVery comfortable stay convenient to Ueno attractions. Short easy walk from station. Found out the hard way there is another APA hotel called Ueno Ekikita. Be sure 'Inaricho' is in your Google maps search.

Hong KongThe check out time is 10am. Hope it can be extended to 11am for more time is needed for the packing.
No breakfast available at the hotel but you can buy a meal coup at a nearby cafe from the hotel. The hotel is quiet and near a subway station, very convenient for traveling.

New ZealandRoom was on the smaller side, but highly functional and the beds were raised up so could slide my suitcase under the bed which was a nice addition
Excellent stay. Functional room, all the amenities you could need. Location was perfect for what we were after. Slightly out the main areas so nice and quiet, 5 minute walk to a location that had a few food options and a station on the Ginza line. Then a 15 minute walk to Ueno station which can get you anywhere in Tokyo and beyond, endless food options and the Ueno gardens. The housekeeping and staff were excellent and helpful. Would highly recommend, especially if you want a break from crowds.

There was the train station close and many restaurants and convenience stores around this location, making it easy to find something to eat or jump on a train.

NetherlandsNothing much except room size could have been bigger with respect to the price but it was already known during booking.
Efficient rooms, even though small but filled with all amenities. Everything was clean, towels were changed everyday. TV had all sorts of information available and even have a chromecast. Location was like 15 minutes of slow walk to nearest JR station. 6 minutes walk to nearest subway line.

United StatesAs with many APA, the bath tub is difficult to exit due to being short, narrow, and having very tall sides (which on the other hand let you soak.
The hotel is what you would expect from an APA, except this location went above and beyond to assist with finding a seemingly missing package from Sagawa Express. Beds are larger than the average APA and allowed room to spread out.

South KoreaNothing. The rooms are on a smaller side, but that's what you get in business hotels in Japan, so no complaints there :) This is a perfect stay in Tokyo for a couple of nights.
This is a regular business-type APA, so if you have been to APA before, you know what to expect. Clean, neat, comfortable, easy check in and check out process, polite staff, all services you might need. The hotel itself is about 10 min walk from Ueno station which is perfect if you use Narita airport (Keisei Skyliner arrives at Ueno station, and it is only short walk from there). Convenience stores and cafes around, easy to navigate.
