We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

APA staff's English skill really need to be improved. "Lost in translation" is the major problem for the foreign travellers in Japan, especially in APA.
APA facilities is convenient,clean, and comfy. The location is very near to subway and shopping area.

The room was quite small for 2 people with 2 suitcases.
We had a good stay at Hotel APA Ueno Ekiminami. It was in a good location that was easy to find; very close to Ueno Station and Ueno Park. It had a good breakfast with many different options. Staff were very pleasant.

I felt the breakfast could have been a little better with being hot and options, but the staff were welcoming and it was still good.
Location was exceptional close to the station with lots of restaurants nearby. The staff was very helpful and spoke English. The beds were super comfy and the air conditioner worked amazingly during the summer heat!

Not spacious. But since I’m solo it’s good enough for me.
Great location. It’s near the Skyliner Station so it’s easy to travel from and to the airport and other major stations. I also like that they provide a set of towel, robe and other hotel items on a daily basis.

Room a little bit small
Location near Ueno Park and many attractions. A lot of metro/train accesses that can take you virtually everywhere. A lot of option for shopping, eating, drinking and much more. Nice staff, small but very nice room.

The luggage store system QR code did not work when we left our suitcase and did not work again when we picked it up. So the system failed, perhaps, the old way of using a number is more efficient.

How small the room was but we do understand the purpose. We knew what we were booking
The location was spot on. Had everything at our doorstep that we wanted to be near. Walking to train stations as we all as Ueno park were all so close

The lobby is small.

Because of carpet so there’s quite much dust whenever you moved your luggage or walked.
Located in Ueno. Near many subway lines. There’s many delicious restaurants. We stayed on the 15th floor which is the highest floor and nice view. Really appreciated this room and view. One more little thing but we loved it was we didnt expect that free ice service at the lobby will saved our lives from super hot weather in Tokyo during our stayed. We brought cups of ice every time when we back to hotel so we can enjoy more cooler drinks in our room

The one thing I was not satisfied with was the inside noise. When someone next to your room opens or closes his door, you can also feel that the wall of your room shakes.
The location is good. It is close to Ueno station. Compared to that, it is pretty free of outside noise.

Nil laundry facilities. Not air conditioned in hallways on our floor, room was very hot on arrival (cranked aircon right away and was sorted)
