Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaIt would have been nice to be able to crack the window open for a fresh breeze
The close proximity to the train station was a big bonus as well as the delicious breakfast every morning. We loved the huge TV over the bed to watch movies after a long day of walking! Very cosy - we were lucky to have a nice view of the temple and momji

Czech RepublicThe Observatory Terrace was a let-down, as at night, the light in the room reflects in the windows and spoils the view. The middle of the building has a huge hole, so the entrance to your room is almost outside the building. Even though the view over the railing is impressive and they have safety nets, it gave me mild vertigo.
The location is brilliant, as you're right next to several metro lines, which gives you quick access to a really big chunk of Tokyo. The area felt like a business park with a lot of office buildings and hotels, but it was very quiet.

Great location very close to the metro; friendly staff; room even though small - very functional and fits everything it can

United KingdomWe stayed a couple nights and on our first night the room was unbearably hot! We noticed the following morning in the lift they had put a sign up to say that they control the room temperature depending on the temperature outside. Apa hotel chains are everywhere across Japan and we did stay at another one in shinjuku during our trip and that one felt not as hot as this one.
Loved that the room came with a coffee machine which was replenished daily during our stay! The hotel was also very close to the nearby subway station.

United KingdomWeird check in - a bunch of people standing behind the reception insisting that you had to use the automatic check - technology for technology sake. But it didn’t detract from the hotel which was excellent value
All excellent especially the Japanese Spa!

CanadaThe size of the (double bed) room is too small, our luggage had to be stored under the bed, it's hard to retrieve things for us as seniors. There are 4 elevators but by the time to check out (10am), the cleaning teams took 2, so it ended up 30 minutes to reach the lobby on 1st floor from our room on the 6th, thanks to the action that we took a somewhat-not-very-crowded elevator flight with 2 cleaning ladies to the 17th floor and went down with the one full of shoulder-to-shoulder of people! If we had stayed at 6th floor to wait for our turn, it could have been 1 hour easily and there's no other way, we're not allowed to take stairs.
Location. It's very convenient for going around busy downtown. There's also a temple in the back of the hotel, so we could visit. The sento (hot water pool) is an advantage as well.

SpainThe room we were initially given had apparently had some water leaks and mold. But they quickly moved us to a different room that had no issues. So if you have a problem, just ask and they will quickly accomodate you.
The hotel is in a great, quiet location between the government district and the Akasaka district for great restaurants. Make sure you visit the shrine next door. It is beautiful, uncrowded, and ended up being one of our favorites. The rooms are smaller than our other hotels on the trip, but had everything you needed. The onsen baths were very nice. The breakfast buffet is outstanding. The staff speak very good English and are very helpful. We liked it so much that we rebooked for the end of our trip in Japan.
