We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

DenmarkNothing really bad, nothing really good…. But quite expensive compared to room price and what you get.

ThailandI “ upgraded “ at a cost to a Phiten room . I honestly cannot understand what the benefit is as it’s no different to most small Japanese hotel rooms - puzzled ? Another disappointment - I looked forward to the LG Styler but all instructions were in Japanese . All TV Japanese and guidance for VOD only Japanese .

ChinaMy experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing. From the moment we entered, we were greeted by two incredibly lifelike robots at the entrance, which gave us quite a scare. The atmosphere they created was eerie and unsettling, completely contrary to the warm and welcoming vibe one would expect from a hotel. It felt like stepping into a scene from a horror movie, especially at night, when the robots made the experience even more disturbing. The hotel’s management was also a significant letdown. During the booking process, I had clearly filled in the names of two guests, but upon check-in, the hotel insisted that they only recognized one guest. Since the entire check-in process was self-service and there were no staff members available to assist or provide reminders, we ended up discovering the next morning that only my friend was entitled to breakfast, while I was excluded. This kind of service felt cold and unprofessional. What’s worse, as breakfast time neared 10 a.m., my friend was still eating when the restaurant staff abruptly asked her to leave. While I understand that hotels often have fixed meal times, such rigid enforcement of rules without any flexibility or respect for the guest’s experience was unacceptable. Instead of the warm, thoughtful service one expects, this hotel’s approach felt harsh and mechanical. In summary, this hotel fails both in design and service. From the unsettling robots at the entrance to the indifferent management and the lack of flexibility in guest service, my stay here was deeply unsatisfactory. It felt more like dealing with an automated system than a place where the staff genuinely cared about creating a comfortable experience for guests. I will not consider staying at this hotel again and would not recommend it to others.

Puerto RicoReally accesible and centric so moving around the city was not an issue at all at this hotel. Also they have storage lockers in place so that if you get there before check in you can lock your bags without the need for staff.

AustriaWhat I don’t understand is why we’re asked to rate the staff when there isn’t any—it’s all robots. But honestly, I have to say the robots handled everything much better than humans usually do. Check-in was fast and smooth, though only available from 3 PM sharp, which is a slight downside. However, they’ve organized luggage storage very well. You can take your bags to the second floor and secure them in a locker. It was quite busy, but we managed to get a locker without any issues. In the meantime, you can grab something to eat at one of the nearby restaurants. The room itself was tiny—barely enough space for two small suitcases, and opening a large suitcase would have been nearly impossible. The bathroom was also very small but included a mini bathtub with plenty of hot water, which was nice. We didn’t book breakfast and were glad we didn’t since it was Japanese-style, which may not suit everyone. Instead, there’s a convenience store just around the corner offering fresh coffee and snacks—a great alternative. Overall, a unique and efficient experience, especially if you’re okay with minimal space and no personal interaction.
The check-in process was fast and easy—just check in online a day before, then scan your QR code upon arrival. The location was excellent for exploring Tokyo Tower, and the area was much quieter on the weekend since it’s in a business district. Additionally, it’s conveniently close to a train station, making it a great base for getting around the city.

I feel like it was the best choice for Tokyo/Minato. Location is just perfect, a few min walk to the train which will take you everywhere, including direct trip to the airport in 20 min. Very quiet area with lovely restaurants and cafes. (I recommend the small restaurant downstairs, great food and lovely friendly staff ❤️) Couldn't hear any external and internal noises. The check- in was very easy and fast, loved the cute robots ❤️🤖🎃 The staff is instantly available and very helpful if you call number in the lobby. Room was very small, which is normal in Tokyo, but ultra clean, well organized and it had fantastic LG styler steam closet. There's a space for luggage under the bed, super duper toilet and all necessary toiletries. Perfect for ppl who travel light, not with oversized suitcases. Bed was very comfy and large enough for 2 ppl. Had a great stay and highly recommend for an easy and perfectly located compact accomodation. Btw, if you travel to Japan and can't sleep on hard pillows, bring your own inflated pillow.

United KingdomRoom was too small and no staff for checking check out that being said the automated check in out process was very easy. I just prefer to know that there is a staff member at the front desk.
Amazing location only five minutes walk from the north exit of Hammatsucho (Haneda monorail station terminus) however, room was very small even by Japanese standards fine if you’re on your own but for a couple far too small for anything other than an overnight stay to pick up the monorail for a flight. Our room was also not as clean as all of the other hotels that we stayed in however it was good value so if it’s an overnight and this place is the cheapest and I would stay again however if not I would certainly stay elsewhere also didn’t like the fact, that there were no staff at checking instead there were two androids which was pretty cool but I much prefer to meet a person!

Wonderful staff! Despite the check in counter being serviced by robots, there are actual human staff members available if you need anything. We had issues with our TV and the team at this hotel could not have been more helpful! The rooms are quite small, but that's to be expected in Tokyo. The rooms were comfortable.

United StatesThe bed was super uncomfortable. The pillows were awful. The room was either too hot or cold. The lack of humans at check in was just annoying and the robots don't even do anything. Might as well just have a machine to check in. Breakfast was unclear, as a foreigner it was hard to understand that it was okay to go in and take a seat as it looks like a restaurant you have to pay for. Also breakfast is not that awesome. Watered down curry. Everything that should be hot was cold and everything that should be cold was hot. The TV in our unit was broken. The LCD has worn out and the image was very blue.
