We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

BulgariaThe double rooms are very very small compared to the twin rooms. The staff at reception was not willing to accept our luggage beforehand. The rooms were a bit dirty, compared to the cleanliness in other Japanese hotels.
The location of the hotel is superb - a lot of transport options and restaurants nearby. The twin rooms is a good, standard size for Japan. Breakfast had a lot of diversity of food. The price was fair!

GermanyVery small room, better not book when you have a lot of luggage. Because it is kind of unmanned you can’t ask anybody for help e.g. calling a taxi for you
Close to Akiba and close to a subway station. Convenience store around the corner. The robots were funny. It’s something you can tell people about when you ge back from your trip. Check in didn’t work well but there is always back up staff that’s helping you out, they were very nice.

United KingdomThe beds were unfortunately very hard so it was a little uncomfortable, but this is very usual/common for any Japanese hotel. The rooms are also very small, but again this is also super common for any Japanese hotel.
The facilities are fantastic - they provide a lot of amenities like toothbrush, pyjamas, slippers, shampoo/condition, etc. The location is amazing, really close to Akihabara and easy to travel to anywhere to Tokyo. Getting from Haneda Airport to the hotel is one easy simple straight train too.

IrelandThe only complaint I have was the bed. Everything else was fine, but the bed mattress was super thin. It felt like we were sleeping on a big piece of wood with a blanket down for padding. Now, we're easy going enough, but I wanted to put that out there for anyone who that might concern.
Very cool experience, just for the robot staff alone. (For those of you who are a little unsure about having no human reception, there are people on site and available through phone at the check in counter.) The room was pretty normal sized for Tokyo and the station was an easy 5min walk from most things.

Australia1. We had trouble checking in maybe because I booked two rooms under my name. The self checkin computer couldn’t process my checkin and said to wait for staff. It was 10pm and we waited about an hour for staff to help us check in. 2. Dryer took 2 hours to dry a small load of clothes!

GermanyNow to the negatives. You can tell the hotel has started to age and requires some renovations. Signs of usage everywhere, and in our first room there was an issue with the electricity and more damage in the bathroom (we were immediately offered a new room though, and they brought over our suitcases by themselves while we were away for a day trip to Hakone). Cleanliness is so-so as well. Very dusty, and we found a lot of questionable white spots/stains on the walls next to the bed. The beds, while alright for us, might be too hard for others. The breakfast is half Indian/half traditional Japanese. We enjoyed this, but others might not. So the hotel isn't a total catastrophe, especially when you're just there to sleep, but it's far from being excellent.
First of all, a big complement to the staff of the hotel. They were all very friendly, accommodating, and did their best to help us when things went wrong/weren't satisfying. On top of that, the location of the hotel is very good. A lot of eating options, supermarkets and a train/subway station nearby. Size of the room, for Tokyo, was decent too. The LG styler for freshening up one's clothes is helpful as well.

CanadaGreat sized room and bathroom. The room and hotel itself was clean and had great staff. Great location a short walk from both metro and JR lines as well as good restaurants and convenience stores nearby. The robots were a bit gimmicky and did not work well (we had to call for staff to check us in as the machines weren't working). However, overall we had a great experience.
