We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyRules unfortunately not enforced. People are loud and drink alcohol in the sleeping pods, roll their luggage around and rearrange it. put their stinky shoes in front of the sleeping pods instead of wearing given slippers. Bed mattresses are and especially the pillows very uncomfortable. Pretty sad. Not worth even the smallest amount of money. Booked seven nights, stayed only two, cannot recommend, only if you are a party tourist who is drunk and disrespectful anyway..
Definitely the daily work that is done by the cleaning staff. Sauna was nice as well. Located right around the corner of Ebisu Station.

ColombiaThey should be stricter with people bringing suitcases into the capsule area. They have security cameras, so they can be careful. Two nights, one person entered with a carry-on at 1 a.m.

AustraliaDon’t know where to start: 1- when you book it makes it confusing and because is not clear I ended up double booking two capsules… They know this happens very often and they welcome you by letting you know that you made a double booking and you won’t have a refund! 2- the flooring is not carpet and is like cement (not sure if there will be renovated) but you can hear anyone walking on the middle hallway of the capsules at all times! 3- the capsules have a blind screen to roll down, not a stronger laminate as I’ve seen before. 4- the luggage area is very narrow and when more than 2 ppl are going through their luggage at the same time, it gets very uncomfortable and hard to manage. 5- please note that luggage area is not very big. It will fit a carry on size suitcase. 6- there are cameras on the capsule areas floor, despite gender are separated by floor and you need a key to enter the capsule areas. BE AWARE NO GET CHANGED OUTSIDE YOUR CAPSULE! 7- You will need to check out every day, and check in again even if you’re staying for 2 consecutive nights or more. You can leave your suitcase in the luggage area. 8- The showers are on another floor, you will need to make sure to bring all you need to the other floor as you will also need a key to get in the showers area, include to just clean your teeth. Note: My experience was I booked 2 nights, we couldn’t sleep the first night, we checked out as per routine, we could find another hotel and didn’t come back! It was worth for me to lose one night accommodation and get a better night sleep at the end of my wonderful trip to Japan.
The capsules were very basic but mine also had a broken gap on the top area which did allow a vent to be fully closed as was meant to. Pillow and mattress were comfortable enough. Property is very close yo the Ebisu train station but be mindful that you had to go up narrow stairs to the main entrance to reception. For large luggage not very appropriate.

TurkeyStaff was very nice and helpful. Capsules, bathrooms, locker room, restrooms everything was clean and there were instructions everywhere. Location is awesome its right next to Ebisu train station and 2 km walk to shibuya crossing also there is a 7eleven right in front of the hotel and next to ebisu station there is a 24h open Mcdonalds just in case. It's an awesome place to stay for solo travelers in my opinion. Thanks for everything.

United StatesI wish there was laundry but I already knew that coming in. The locker room hallways were a bit narrow so it made it hard to pack, but not unbearable.
The hostel was clean, comfy, and quiet, and exactly what was expected from the photos and descriptions. The location was perfect, only around the corner from the train station, and a few stops away from Shibuya and Shinjuku. I like that the location in Ebisu is quieter and less hectic than other parts of Tokyo, so it's a perfect location to wind down after a busy day traveling. The hostel staff were also so kind and accommodating. I highly recommend if you are looking for an affordable stay at a good location.

IsraelJust on thing: everyday you basically check out of your bed at 10:00 and go back at 14:00. At 10:00 in the morning three of the workers banged on the walls and woke up everyone up and apparently that's what they do everyday, wake everyone up everyday to clean the beds and let us go back at 14:00. In the description they vaguely say it by saying "there's cleaning at 10:00" which is a half assed way to basically cover themselves. I checked out and asked for a refund the next day.
The place had a sauna and that's pretty cool. Also when I expressed my issues to the front desk they were willing to refund me, still haven't gotten the refund though.

United StatesYou're forced to check out every day at 10AM and have no access to your stuff from then until 2PM, bathrooms are on a different floor than beds, the only way to move between floors is by a single, tiny elevator, and emergency exit stairwells are blocked by trash cans. These things together make the hour leading up to 10AM every morning difficult, as everybody is using the small elevator to go to the bathroom, go back to the capsule floors to sort their things, and get out of the hostel. I had to wait for multiple full elevators to pass before being able to get in each morning. And then there's the safety issue of having access to the emergency exits obstructed. The common space is an area behind the check in desk that looks like it still needs to be finished. The design of the place and being chased out every morning at 10AM discourages any kind of social interaction, which I found disappointing for a hostel.
It was acceptably clean, but the level of cleanliness did not justify kicking everybody out for four hours each day.

SwedenThe matresses in the capsules are very thin so it's not the most comfortable capules but that's common for capules of this type.
The staff was really friendly and they speak English well. The location is great and you can easily walk from Shibuya. The hours you have check out were surprisingly short (10am-2pm) and you have great space for your things; a locker you can lock and some additional shared space you can put a travel bag. You cannot access your things during cleaning hours but you can leave them in the locker which is great!
