Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe hotel is near 2 train stops. The JR train station was a longer walk than we expected. For the more mature guests, getting up and down the floor can be a challenge. 😂
Clean, convenient. Quiet neighborhood. Nice bakery, ramen shop and other shops and restaurants within walking distance. Staff was helpful.

BulgariaThe staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They know English and are willing to help you with anything. They clean the room and give you new towels every day. The toilet is the normal western one, not the Japanese futuristic one but that's ok. The futons are very comfortable. The train station is very close and they have a convenient store close by.

United StatesLocation could be closer to Uguisudani Station for Yamanote line access. It was about a 15 minute walk which we found ourselves making often about twice a day.
Beautiful traditional rooms with tatami, excellent breakfast, free tea ceremony, private bath, close to Iriya Station (about 5 minutes walk). It's really hard to find a place that feels like a traditional ryokan in Tokyo.

BelgiumWe made a mistake choosing a traditional Japanese room for the first four days of our stay in Japan. With jet lag, you need the most comfortable bedding possible. While it was a nice experience, it was quite uncomfortable—but definitely not the hotel's fault.
The staff is fantastic—extremely kind and helpful, as is standard in Japan. The hotel is small but cozy, very clean, and welcoming. I highly recommend the tea ceremony and having at least one breakfast there. Metro stations, a 7/11, and other services are conveniently nearby.

SwedenThe walls in the rooms are on the thinner side and made of wood, so you will hear all of anything knocks on the walls of the adjoining rooms.

JapanThe door to the toilet is very thin so people can hear you using the toilet and sink loud and clear. The room was quite humid. We needed to borrow a humidifier. There were tea bags prepared but no water for the kettle.
Good location. Close to subway stations and quiet neighborhood. Provided us with extra layer of bedding for futon, which allowed comfortable sleeping. Can borrow adapters, chargers, humidifiers, etc. Kind staff.

Our brief stay was very enjoyable. The edo sakura responded very promptly to all queries. The staff were so ready to help and make suggestions. They were very clear and concise with how the ryokan operates especially how to enter after the front door was locked at 11pm. The western bedroom was very clean albeit slightly small. We could open our large suitcase without difficulty. The beds were firm but very comfortable. We loved the pillows. Limited hanging space. The bathroom was compact. The shower/bath was hot w good pressure. Yakutas n slippers were provided. Reverse cycle aircon was great. A bar fridge was provided. Wifi seemed fast. We did not have breakfast or book the private bath. Unfortunately, the tea ceremony was not available on the weekends. Beibe and rasuki were so welcoming and very helpful. Beibe clearly and patiently explained how to come from Narita airport and how to get to Haneda airport which helped us a lot. The location was only 10 min walk from the closest station, iriya and Ueno Station was only 25 min walk away. The location has lots to discover. We went to the suggested Dining Bar close by and were delighted. Ueno park was fantastic and the museums great. We would come back. Arigato gozaimasu
