Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

FranceAlthough we were expecting a small room as it was stated upon booking, the room we were assigned had a terrible layout in L where we couldn’t event open one big luggage. The bathroom was very modest and not enjoyable to take a shower in. Lastly our room was located right next to the washing machine, waking us in the middle of the night at 1am! Surprisingly guest were allowed to use it at any time of the night. We had to wake up in our pyjama at 1am to request a new room. Eventually we got assigned a room that had a similar surface but with way better layout which made the last day of our stay better compared to the four previous one. Moreover, one other issue was the lack of transparency regarding who had access to the SPA area! Indeed tattooed people were not allowed, but this wasn’t specified on their website or on booking and we weren’t informed at the reception, I even messaged the hotel to ask 2 day prior to our arrival but didnt get any answer…. I’ve learned upon arrival it while arriving in the SPA…
The property is nicely located near metro station that allows you to access quickly most of the city

United StatesRooms slightly small as expected for Tokyo, but comfortable beds
Great location in Tokyo. Easy short walk to 3 subway stations for easy access to all areas of Tokyo. Great restaurants on the surrounding streets. Not a crowded, noisy area like Shinjuku. Great Onsen after day of sightseeing. Great inexpensive breakfast buffet! Staff is very nice:)

AustraliaNothing to fault!
Very modern and nice inside! Everything was super clean, small room but everything in Tokyo is small so I can’t fault it. Staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful! The location was amazing! 8-12min train ride to all the other major areas in Tokyo, like Shibuya, Harajuku, Shinjuku etc. 6 min walk to the train station, modern coffee shop directly across the street and lots of lively bars and sushi restaurants on the same road! Check in and check out were super easy, even though we checked in at 10:30pm at night! Reception was always fully staffed (no matter how late at night) and greeted us everytime we came and went from the property. Hotel is located on a busy street with lots going on 24/7, would recommend if you are looking for that sort of holiday. We loved you hotel HILLARYS!!

Australiai was disappointed that the hotel staff gave me 2 twin beds and were not able to swap me into a double bed room. i was travelling alone so twin beds were not ideal. i was also disappointed that there was no sauna in the women's onsen - only the men's. i booked this hotel specifically for the sauna so it was disappointing and i don't think it was very good value for money my room was also dusty and the blinds broke - again they didn't move me into a new room as i requested

United KingdomEverything about this hotel is amazing. There is nothing the staff won't help with and the hotel is immaculate. The hotel housekeeping ladies are an absolute joy and are such a delight to be greeted by every morning. There is a rooftop lounge that opens up at 3pm until 12am, ¥2500 for nibbles and snacks and all you can drink, with amazing nighttime views of the city. Definitely worth the few times that we went. Breakfast was the highlight for me, I've never eaten so healthy and have now seen on board a few things that I ate whilst there. Pickled ginger, pickled plums and apricots and radishes with my eggs in the morning, washed down by two glasses of detox water. I felt so ready for the day!!! The location is the best, we were right smack in the middle of Akasaka, with so many subway lines to choose from to have amazing adventures and days out. As Akasaka is the historical part of Tokyo, we saw amazing shrines and history for the prefecture. Great places to eat and don't be put off if your Japanese is non existent, there's nothing that Google translate can't fix and find for you. I would recommend Sakura Sachs in Akasaka, great food and amazing service. Get there before 6pm, as it gets busy and reservations take precedence over walk in's. Definitely coming back to Japan, as there is so much to do and many places to stay. Everything was great and I felt so relaxed and looked after.

United KingdomThe room is so so tiny. There was 2 of us and I could barely fit my luggage in the room. I had to use the corridor outside of the room to open my suitcase and get my clothes out. There is no wardrobe of hanging rail so you have to live out of your suitcase. Also there is a window but it’s completely glazed so you can’t actually see through it which made the room feel even more claustrophobic.
Great location, a lot of different food spots on the road, even a nice sushi restaurant that closed around 3am. Very close to train station. Staff were lovely. The aesthetics and decor are really nice. The hot spring baths were great, and pretty much empty in the mornings but a bit more busy in evenings

South KoreaThe fake windows, the bad smell in the room, the lack of light in the room, making it look like a prison cell (a nice prison cell but still a prison). The smell in very small breakfast room. I know it is Tokyo and I love Japanese food for lunch and dinner, but I like it "Western" at 8 in the morning. And unfortunately the tiny breakfast room implies that you have your breakfast at max 2 meters from fish, meat and miso soup...
The location, the large bathroom (vs usual small plastic bathrooms in Tokyo hotels)
