Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaI wouldn't say dont like but it can be imporved. I asked the Japanese front desk about helping us booking for a restaurant as we dont speak Japanese. He showed a really promising attitude but then said 'we cant'. It is quite disappointing but understand Japanese people are polite but this was a bit over....
The hotel was very conveniently located, with 10 mins walk to the palace and 15 mins walk to the kainan sanjo station. It offers free breakfast from Matsuya. Although not fansc, the food was delicious and was very fulfilling in the morning. The hotel offers all sorts of amentities including bath salt. Good sized room and toilet.

United StatesLocation is central, but the immediate area is kind of meh, other than the Manga Museum Bathtub was slightly smaller than other hotels As is typical in my experience with Japanese hotels, the bed is very firm and the pillow very flat
I've paid twice as much for similar rooms in other places, so the value alone was worth it Location is good broadly, as it is in a central area which lets you access East and West Kyoto, as well as the nearby Manga Museum Mini Fridge is very cold, and they give you a free water bottle daily Ground floor has ice, vending machines, laundry, and a neighboring Matsuya Checkout time is noon, which is an hour later than most, and could be helpful for meeting another hotels check in time

TurkeyI could still walk to touristic attractions such as Nishiki market, pontocho and gion in 15-30mins however It was a bit far away from main attractions. If you don't mind walking a bit more this place is a great location and value for the money.
In general I like this hotel, It was a great value for the money when I stayed there right after travel restrictions lifted. Room was spacious for one person and facilities in my room were great (everyday cleaning & staff were bringing bottled water to your room, nice bathroom with bathtubs, comfortable bed, a large table for working, ironing machine etc). From the hotel, I could reach Karasuma Oike metro station by walking in 5-10 mins, which is great. They have restaurant inside if you wanted to have some meals. Lastly, staff was very respectful and kind towards me. Thank you. 🙏👍

JapanThe room that I stayed showed sofa, however, the space was like that of standard Japanese rooms - a small sofa and a table just enough to rest your laptop. But it serves the purpose. I thought it was a bigger room.
The breakfast coupons were handed, and there were 4 menus. The breakfast was okay, not the buffet like or where you can choose the varieties. It is fixed 4 items, with Japanese breakfast or toast and fried sausages. One night it was raining, and I asked for the umbrella and the staff handed me an umbrella. The other day, they had umbrellas on sale near the counter. It was a few minutes walk from the subway station. I need an iron and the staff provided me one in time.

BelgiumThere is nothing to reproach, really. If I really have to find a point that could be improved, the communal spaces are quite limited: there are a few seats in the lobby at the ground floor, but little else. The microwave oven is also located at the ground level, so if you decide to dine in your room, you have to walk around the lobby with your food. Still, these are small details, I would not count them as problems.
I spent there 7 nights. The hotel location is very convenient, a short walk from Karasuma Oike metro station, which gives access to both metro lines. Close to various kombini, it has an in-house Matsuya outlet, in case you want to eat something. Service is very friendly, and I could communicate effectively even with my limited Japanese. The room was immaculate, and correctly sized -- this is Japan, after all, and rooms are small in general; that being said, this one was very reasonable and quite comfortable. I enjoyed every day of my stay. Personally, I think it is very good value for money.

ChinaI didn’t check the window? When I went in it was already so dark. I forgot to set an alarm, so I overslept( 1000%my fault). I didn’t complain at all.
Their room size is roughly as small as other hotels, but their room is just so well-designed in a way that the space is utilized much more efficiently. The shape of the desk is unconventional so that we have more desk space. The couch even has a little table for your drinks. The bed is so comfortable that I overslept lol and missed half day of my trip lol. I love the bathroom too. Anyway, this hotel is perfect for solo travellers. The only overall downside for me is perhaps the location(8/10 still) But the closest subway station is also a major subway station, which empowers a lot more possibilities. Check out time i believe was 12 noon, which was nice.

United StatesThe room is really really small. Staff didn’t provide extra services like helping me make a reservation at restaurant.
Good location, a short walk to the subway. The bathroom is modern. Facilities are nice and clean. There’s on-site washer and dryer which worked great. Staff is friendly enough. There’s a cafeteria adjacent to the hotel which is very convenient when restaurants turned me down (table for 1 at 6pm) because I didn’t have reservation.
