Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

JapanThe bathroom inside the room is very small
The room is small and basic, but I liked the hotel a lot. It has a nice lounge, with nice food. The staff is very friendly. The location is great. There is a laundry room, a kitchen, a massage chair and other nice features. IT is a hotel but with hostel spirit (in a good sense).

United KingdomA running tab could be offered for guests staying for an extended period. This would allow guests to order food and drinks, and charge it to their rooms to pay during checkout. It would avoid the staff constantly asking the guest to pay for the food, which is a little awkward and disruptive.
The hotel was served by two subway stations, which made it convenient for traveling around Tokyo. Nearby there was restaurants, convenience stalls and supermarkets. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable, with an excellent shared communal kitchen, dining and lounge areas. The staff were very helpful and went above and beyond their duties to help guests.

ThailandThe Hotel is a bit of a walk from Nezu station and about 20 Mins walk from Ueno but I like the walk though, feeling like walking home. On the ay to the airport we got a taxi to Ueno Station because of our luggages.

NetherlandsThe fridge was a bit too big for the room and made quite a bit of noice, even though we turned it to the least coolest setting. It's nice that they offer the service, but the laundry machine + dryer take a lot of time [3+ hours]. A quicker machine + hanging space for laundry or separate dryer would have been better for us.
Great location in a quiet neighbourhood and next to a big park. Staff was friendly, little restaurant serves great vegan sliders. The free beer service [1 beer per day] was very nice too. Best kitchen in an accommodation I've seen so far in Japan. Has lot's of space, good pans and other stuff. Also nice places to chill. Did not try the breakfast but I imagine it's good. Bed was super comfy and room pretty soundproof compared to other places. Organic curry restaurant and supermarket close by were very nice. An easy 15 minutes walk from the station or 10 minutes by taxi. Room was a little dark but it had a window that could be openend. Watch out for mosquito's though!

IndiaRoom was small.. but I guess not by Japanese standards. Bathroom was quite a step up to get into.
Bed was very comfortable - good pillows as well. Had a fridge with a freezer... and a Combini close enough to walk to to buy stuff to keep in the fridge and freezer. Staff called for a taxi to take me to the train station in the morning.

CanadaThe rooms were a tad rundown, especially in the corners or cleanliness of vents. The room felt pretty aged but looked modern in the photos -- we were definitely disappointed when we first walked in but everything ended up being averagely fine.
Really close to the local train, but quite a ways away from the JR station (which we used mostly for our travels). Very convenient location though, and during cherry blossom season, I loved how nearby we were to the park!
