Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe property was a modern Japanese guest house. It was very clean, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They made you feel really welcome. It was in a quiet residential area with lots of facilities(supermarkets, restaurants, etc). The only thing to point out is that it is a good 15 minutes walk on the flat to the metro or train station. Having said that I would love to stay there again. All in all an excellent stay.

CanadaThe room, especially the bathroom, was a bit small
The location was good, not far from the Nippori station. There was a fabulous cafe and a full grocery store very close by. The staff were great. There was coffee available 24/7 adjacent to the lobby. The entire property including the room was super clean

GermanyWalls are thin, we could hear the people next door having a video call at 1 a.m. But that was more due to the people talking loudly than the walls themselves - because for 15 nights, we heard not a peep.
Great hotel with nice & attentive staff, rooms are typically Japanese (so not a lot of space). Bathroom was spotless, albeit small for people over 6'0". Shoes are stored in the lobby, slippers only in the hallways & rooms. Lobby also had a kitchen with lots of amenities for everyday use (+ a water filter for tap water). Location is great, you MUST try the bakery close by - some of the best pastries I've ever eaten. 10 minute walk to the station, 5 minutes to a big supermarket, Familymart & laundromat just around the corner. Nice, quiet neighborhood.

CanadaUnfortunately, the room was a bit small, however, we understand that room size is usually limited in Japan.
The staff were very helpful and friendly! The facilities, communal room and room was clean and kept very well. The communal room had ice coffee, coffee, latte, microwave, cups, plates and utensils.

AustraliaThe staff were super friendly and accommodating! Cleaned our rooms everyday for the 6 days we stayed, the common space was nice, and the rooms were comfortable, and the location is nice and close to the train station, easy to get around with lots of small restaurants near by too!

Hong KongA designated clothes-hanging space would be better than a rail with hangers on both sides of the TV. However, since we only stayed one night, it wasn't a major issue.
The location was excellent, and I loved the nearby bakery recommended by the staff at check-in. The check-in staff was attentive and provided us with useful get-around information and restaurants recommendations. The cozy coffee/tea area with a sofa near the entrance was a nice touch. The room was spacious compared to similarly priced hotels—you could lay out two medium-sized suitcases without rearranging furniture. The bed was a good size, and all necessary amenities were either in the room or available in the lobby.

I loved the facilities! Nice bedding and very cute common area. Yes, the room was small but that's about average for 9 out of 10 hotels in Japan. The country is small! The area around the hotel was very cute as well and we ended up eating out there. Good distance from the city center, around 20-30 to Akihabara and Ueno. The hotel staff were lovely and helped us dispose of a broken luggage. Would definitely recommend :)

FranceBathroom a bit small for a tall person (small door and can’t stand up to take a shower)
The staff was super friendly and welcoming, beds were comfortable and the location is perfect (skyline direct from Narita airport and Yamanote 8 min.walk). The neighbourhood is great, very calm but still everything you’ll need near by.

Location. Staff all friendly and assisted in luggage transfer. Stayed there twice during my trip and would definitely return. Lots of good food options around too. It’s an 8 minute east walk to Nippori station.

IsraelThe room is very small, and so does the shower. The double bed is next to the wall, so the one who sleeps on that side can't get out comfortably in the middle of the night.
A nice hotel near the train station (flat 800m), and it's comfortable to get there or from there with luggage. There is a small common living room with a microwave, a fridge, some beverages and cooking facilities. The hotel is clean and the stuff is very friendly.
