Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaStaff won’t break down bills and large coins into smaller coins for the laundry. Capsules are tinier than most. Hit head often. No secure luggage storage offered automatically;” - they charge for this. Nickel and dime approach for basic necessities. Dirty bathrooms.
In a good area near Ueno. Cheap.

Stayed here for 3 nights towards the end of my trip in Tokyo and it exceeded all expectations for the low price I paid. Ueno is a 5 min walk (use Iriya exit NOT panda bridge as google suggests). I had a lower bunk in the female dorm and it was really comfortable, although there's not much space for luggage. The bathroom inside the dorm was great, never had to wait for a shower. The staff are also really nice and helpful. If you are using the washing machines, there is an automated coin laundry 10 min walk away that has huge dryers which are cheaper and more effective.

BrazilEverything was very clean even though some guests were a bit messy. The experience was simple but seamless. The staff were polite. They even provided a very detailed guide about how everything works some days before the check-in. Pretty cool!

South KoreaOne of the woman who were sleeping next to my unit was not sleeping all night for some reason. so I couldn't get enough sleep. If somebody has a sensitivity hearing, then it might be not comfortable. Except that, it was good to be in this hotel.

TurkeyYou have to check-in at 3 pm. Although my friends was very sick, they did not accept her until 3pm and I am sure the bed was empty. So, she had to sleep in the launch just to feel better. I expected a bit more help for her. Plus, you need to pay 200 YEN if you want to leave your luggage there until your check-in time.
It is very quiet and everything is based on rules

TaiwanFrom the auto check-in system to the staff's attitude, somehow I don't feel any warmth here. You have to check-in before 11 PM, which is understandable, otherwise you will be charge fee. Also, beware that the slipper cost 50 yen but cannot be paid by cash.
This place is close to Ueno station and it's has all the basic facilities to stay a night (as a backpacker).

JapanI followed the instructions on the security box in my capsule, but it didn't work, so I couldn't lock my valuables. The "luggage storage" areas were just two taped-off areas on the floor of the dormitory, so I was worried about theft with my bags exposed. The areas were also too small; there was luggage all over the floor. There also wasn't a provided area to hang our towels to dry. Some people hung their towels from the ladder railings, but there weren't enough for everyone. It rained when I was there, so it was very difficult to find space to let me wet clothes dry in addition to my shower towel. It was also a little stuffy inside the capsule, even though it was cool in the dormitory thanks to the AC. It was my first time staying in a 28-person dorm room and I likely won't do it again. It smelled bad.
The location was very convenient for accessing two train stations on foot, walking to Asakusa, and eating at nearby tasty restaurants. The bathrooms and showers were also very nice and clean.
