Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe rooms were a little small but not that important if you’re out and about all the time.
The property was a wonderful fix of traditional Japan and modern. The staff and facilities were wonderful, very helpful and went above and beyond expectations.

Fantastic hotel. Great location, very clean room and very comfy. The on-site onsen is awesome and there's a live link which tells you how busy it is so you can avoid peak times. Great place would recommend.

PhilippinesI didn't get to try their Onsen.
The room was of a good size, the Matcha tea set is a nice touch. The drinks and food from the restaurant were good, but we had only a small portion. In the morning it looked a bit crowded. The hotel is in walking distance of a metro station, the Imperial Palace, and the happening district of Kyoto – but itself in a quite quiet neighbourhood. I did not get to try their Onsen, there was just no time.

AustraliaNot a complaint, but the rooms are small, and it is a squeeze for travellers coming with bug luggage.
The modern design of the hotel creates a warm atmosphere right from entering, where the lobby is placed alongside an inviting-looking cafe bar (where breakfast buffet is served and is seen from street level). A small courtyard garden and ground-level hot bath are all nice hotel additions. Rooms are compact and tight, but intimate and cosy. The central location in Nakagyō-ku (Nakagyō Ward) means there are lovely one-lane traffic streets to explore shops and eateries and the nearby Gyoen National Garden (Imperial Gardens).

Very nice and clean place. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Hotel staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Somehow I ended up in Kyoto totally unprepared). Hotel workers hooked me up all right by helping out to plan my short trip. I’d say it was the best customer service I have seen in years. We, in US & EU, have a huge room for improvement and should learn from examples as such on how we should treat and take care of our guests. 🤷♀️ On the side note: 7 eleven and local grocery store is about 3-5 minute walk away. There are also many local places to eat nearby. G Cab to or from train station costs around 2k yen. Coin laundry is on the 2nd floor, but keep in mind that it’s limited to 2 washers and 2 dryers which is open 0600-0000.

NorwayNo complaints. Could've been a bigger selection of bread for breakfast, but you can't really expect it in Japan where most eat soup, vegetables, fish and noodles for breakfast.
The rooms are more normally sized than some other hotels in Japan. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was decent. The staff was helpful with restaurant reservations.

IsraelRoom is tiny, no real space to even open suitcases. It is better to take out the sitting area so there will be space to open the suitcases. It should be mentioned befoehand that the room is cleaned only every 3 days
Staff is super helpful. The Public bath is quite nice after a long day. A little bit weird how the towel change is done, but you get new towels every day

United KingdomStaff were excellent and so friendly, nothing was too much trouble. When we arrived they let us know they had upgraded us for free to a family suite as it was our two year anniversary and the room was stunning it was such a treat to have such an enormous room in Tokyo! They even put rose petals on the bed (super nice surprise) When we left it was pouring down with rain and the team insisted we both took umbrellas to keep us dry which was very sweet. Thanks guys!
