Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CroatiaGreat staff and owner, helpful and friendly. Clean and cozy room, modern and youthful. I didn't realise (my mistake) the breakfast is exclusively vegetarian, but it was delicious nonetheless! Leaving our luggage after check-out was very helpful!

LatviaIf you seek traditional rooms, this is not so fun. Very Western.
Everything was great. From our 2 weeks in Japan this was the best value. Good location, close to the market and transports, comfy beds, privacy. The staff was nice and let us leave our luggage, gave face creams and made very interesting vegetarian breakfast. One of the rare places to get decent sleep.

United StatesThe soundproofing on the doors is a little weak, so you can hear conversations happening in the hallway.
The building is super new and the staff are super helpful and friendly. The free breakfast is nice and there’s complimentary sake in the evenings.

Germanythere really isn’t anything we can think of.
Where to begin? Great location, only few minutes from the metro station. Very pretty and stylish interior. Amazingly clean. but most of all outstanding and courteous hospitality of the staff. Especially the chef cook that works at the bar! Very comfortable checkin and checkout. The breakfast was delicious and a good combination of japanese and not too difficult for the western tongue. we stayed in another hotel in Japan the days before which was ok but this one was outstanding! the cherry on the cake was the free sake in the evening where we also met other kind guests. And also the free coffee machine (real beans) and tea, which is especially nice if you have a flight before breakfast. The Imu hotel made our stay in Kyoto perfect! Thank you so much! Arigato gozaimasu!

United StatesThe AC is central and you are not allowed to change the temperature. The room was a little warm but they gave us the option of opening the window for cold air ventilation.

New ZealandThe restaurant is vegan, which is fine, but on 2 of our 3 mornings the breakfast was basically salad and bread which wasn’t particularly filling. There is a children’s play area downstairs in the cafe area so there were often screaming kids around.
A stylish little hotel run by very pleasant staff. The downstairs area is a cafe / restaurant but it’s mostly free for guests to use. The wifi is good in this common area at > 50mbps, but unfortunately it wasn’t so great from our rooms. Soft pillows!! There was a choice of pillows in the corridor ranging from firm to soft, so people from all corners of the world are catered for and can have a comfortable night’s sleep. The bed was also comfortable. A great shower that is fully stocked with shampoo, body wash, conditioner. Your room can be cleaned if staying >2 nights and towels changed each day, but we didn’t opt for this. Breakfast was free each day, with a range of juices and iced coffee. Can’t forget about the free sake that was available each evening too - what a treat! Location was excellent - close to a couple of different stations and a walkable distance to many attractions and restaurants / cafes / convenience stores. Secure luggage storage available. Our room was also available for check in early. An almost perfect stay in wonderful Kyoto!
