Some noise from the pipes or ventilation through the night. Though, after spending the whole day out in the streets of Kyoto we were sleeping very deep so it didn't bother us too much.

We liked everything! It is a nice hotel with a great location, super nice and helpful staff and very clean. The breakfast is not buffet but it has some options and its delicious and big. There is coffee, tea, water and sake free to enjoy at any time of the day. Staff at the desk and in the bar are kind, sweet and professional. The double room was not big but perfectly enough for two people. Shower amazing! Cleaning service amazing. Location just 5 min from metro and 10 min from center.

We were expecting a small room but having no storage option for the luggage (e.g. under the bed) minimizes the free space.

The air-conditioning was making some weird noises through the night and I wasn't sure how to fix it. That being said, i was still able to fall asleep.

Imu Hotel Kyoto was a true delight. The impeccably clean room and spacious bathroom made for a comfortable stay. The warm welcome upon arrival set the tone for a homely experience. The common lounge, which is a serene haven, provided a perfect spot to unwind. The complimentary coffee, tea, and hot water were a welcomed bonus. Its central location allowed easy access to the places and restaurants I wanted to explore. As anticipated from reviews, the breakfast was not only delicious but also excellent value for money. Overall, a thoroughly satisfying and wonderful experience.

The room is very small. So if you're two people and have large luggages, consider getting a bigger room.

Great location, walking distance from subway and bus stations, as well as Gion and major attractions. Clean. Friendly staff. Happy hour with different kinds of sake to try every day. They also run events (like matcha or Japanese sweets making workshops). Little indoors playground for kids, board games. Comfortable beds. Nice design and comfortable lobby to wind down in the evening.

I was fortunate to be on a quiet floor, but if your neighbor was loud the only way to manage it was with your room's air unit.

I enjoyed that breakfast was included and the staff was helpful in answering some questions. There is a cash exchange machine located at the front desk. My room was ideal for a single person. There were a few pillow options with the ability to swap out on every level. One reviewer noted it felt more like a hostel than hotel. I concur as Imu Hotel was bare bones, clean, and had good energy from the staff. Good affordable option in the area, but if you are looking for more amenities you'll have to spend more in Kyoto.
